“I noticed we were running low on food, so I thought I grab some so we can cook.”

We.

The word warms me in exactly the same ridiculous way as his shirts in my wardrobe or Ella-Bella.

“You voluntarily left work early and faced Tesco?”

“Don’t sound so shocked.”

“I’m trying to process this new version of you.”

He smiles and starts unpacking the bags.

Then his attention shifts to me.

“What?” I ask.

He doesn’t answer immediately.

Instead, he crosses the kitchen and kisses me.

His hands land on my hips and pull me against him.

“Fuck, you look hot.”

“Still hot.”

“And no underwear.”

He freezes.

Then slowly pulls back.

“Sorry?”

Heat climbs into my cheeks.

“Maybe I should have kept that bit to myself.”

“Absolutely not.”

His gaze drops.

“Are you actually not wearing any?”

I bite my lip. “Maybe.”

“Ella.” The warning in his voice makes me laugh.
