And beneath all of that is another thought I don’t want anywhere near this moment.
Lee.
The plans.
The thing I still haven’t told Tommy.
My stomach twists.
I slowly take my hand from his shirt.
“I should go.”
Tommy’s fingers loosen in my hair.
“Yeah.”
Neither of us moves.
I almost laugh.
This is ridiculous.
“Good night,” I finally say.
“Night, Ella.”
I open the door and climb out before I change my mind.
The cold air hits my burning face.
I walk towards the entrance without looking back.
When I reach the door, I fumble my keys once before getting the right one into the lock.
Only when I’m safely inside do I hear Tommy’s engine start behind me.
He waited to make sure I’m safe.
I press my back against the closed door.
My lips still feel warm from his.
Well.
Lord Grumpiness definitely likes me.
Chapter 6
Tommy
By Monday morning, I have discovered that there are approximately forty-seven different ways to start a text message to a woman you kissed on Friday night.
Every single one of them is shit.
I know because I’ve tried most of them.
Hope you had a good weekend.
