Calm down. Calm down. Calm down.

He remains turned to me. I unplug the bath and let the water out.

Oh, crap. The towel.

I remember the closest one is a fresh one brought by the hotel staff this morning, and it’s currently lying on the couch. I would have to squeeze past Axel completely naked to get it.

“Can I… help you with anything?” Axel asks me awkwardly. At least he hasn’t tried sneaking a sneaky peek around, however tempting that must be for him.

“I like how embarrassed you are,” I remark with a giggle. “It makes a change from the whole playboy rockstar demeanor you have going on.”

“Hilarious.”

“But you can help me with something, as long as you promise not to look. Can you get me the towel on the couch?”

“Okay.”

“But close your eyes.”

“I will.”

“You won’t look?”

“I won’t look, I promise.”

He shuffles off and fetches me the towel, one hand covering his eyes. He comes back into the bathroom with the towel stretched out. Despite his promise, I see a bit of green behind his hand. He can’t hide those bright eyes of his.

But I don’t say a word. I like him taking a quick glance at me all hot, steamy, and wet. Hopefully, this gives him something to think about next time he’s in the bath all by himself.

I sneak a quick peek myself, this time at his pants. He’s clearly erect under there, thanks to me. The outline of his pants teases that he’s actually bigger than I imagined.

Oh, I’m definitely saving that mental image for later.

I wrap the towel around myself.

“I’m decent now. You can open your eyes.”

“Good.”

We’re so close in this steamed bathroom. I try really hard not to think about that.

The man just saw me pleasuring myself in the bath. Is this really happening? Should I be more embarrassed than I am, because, somehow, I’m really not.

“I did not see anything,” he repeats.

“Yeah, yeah, sure.”

“It’s your fault for leaving the door open.”

“Oh, so you’re blaming me now.”

“I come in, I see a beautiful woman in the bath. I can’t help myself. I’m a red-blooded male.”

“You’re calling me beautiful? Without Lucas prompting you?”

“You’re still a geek, Maddie. I won’t let you forget it.”

“Well, forgetting my geekiness for one minute, your wish has come true,” I tell him.
