He chuckled and stroked her hair. “Neither have I,” he admitted, his breathing still raspy. His heart was racing a thousand miles per hour. He couldn’t believe it. She’d let him come inside her, marking her as his, and the thought of it drove him crazy. Her bloodstream would absorb his essence, and everywhere she went for the next few days, the wolves would scent his cum on her. She would smell it on herself.
He held Kira in the dim light of his room, cherishing these moments. She was his, at least for a while. And even though Mark was the one she wanted, she’d wanted him as well, however briefly.
It took everything he had not to kiss her then and there.
Mine.
Chapter 40
The Underground Pool
Kira
Kira sat still as Nathaniel removed her skirt and cleaned her body with a damp towel. He was gentle, but now that the heat of the moment had passed, she was conscious of herself being naked. A silence stretched between them.
He’d removed the toy from her ass and thankfully hadn’t made her wear any others.
“May I shower again?” she asked.
“I have a better idea,” Nathaniel said. “Why don’t we go swimming?”
“Are you asking me, or telling me?”
“I’m asking.”
She raised her eyebrows. “I thought you said I couldn’t leave your room all weekend.”
“For the most part. But I think some fresh air could do us some good.”
“Fresh air? Isn’t the pool underground?”
“Yes.”
She wasn’t sure which of her questions he was agreeing to, but now she was curious.
Nathaniel handed her a woven bag. It contained the clothes she’d bought for herself when Susie had taken her shopping.
“Full disclosure—Susie was adamant about not entering your room and demanded to know where you were. I told her you are safe and with me—”
Kira huffed.
“—and that the alternative is you spend the entire weekend without clothes. It was only then that she agreed to pack you a bag.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
“Because I think you have a good friend in her, and I don’t want to come between the two of you. I’m sorry if I did.”
Kira stared at him. “You’re apologising?”
“Yes.”
His eyes were so blue, so earnest, that she couldn’t look away. It was hard to hate him at that moment—but she gave it a red-hot go. “What about everything else you’ve put me through?”
“Put you through? You enjoyed everything else, didn’t you?”
“Not…everything,” she spluttered. “Definitely not everything. Just…maybe some things.”
Nathaniel’s eyes twinkled with amusement, and she pressed her lips together to stop herself from saying anything more, turning her attention to the bag.
