Linc felt like there was rocket fuel churning in his lower back, a fire waiting to be let loose. He stroked in and out, then let her foot drop to the bed, and then brushed her finger away, so that he could touch and feel that part of her that gave her so much pleasure.

“Harder.”

He didn’t know if she meant his cock, or if she wanted a stronger touch on her clit, but he supplied both.

Leila practically howled as her orgasm overtook her, and he thanked God, because he couldn’t hold back a moment longer. One more surge, and he felt her pussy clasp him tight. Hold him close. His release was unlike anything he had ever felt before.

It was pure beauty.

“You seem pretty happy with yourself these days,” Grant Cloud said as they left Nordstrom’s. “As a matter of fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you happier, and that includes the time that you got your master’s and the job offer with the Turkish consulate here in DC.”

Leila grinned.

“That’s only because I am happier. And it’s not because we found the perfect summer coat for mom’s birthday.”

“Honey, I didn’t think it was that. I thought it was because you were going out to lunch with your old man.”

Leila laughed and grabbed her father’s arm. They continued to wind their way down the street, managing not to run into any of the other pedestrians. Her father had that knack of getting people to step out of his way. The same knack that Linc did.

“So, have you decided where you wanted me to take you?”

“And if I told you I wanted to go to the American Girl Restaurant?”

She could actually feel her dad shudder.

“Then I would say, let’s go.”

“Oh my God, Dad. You’re the best. It wasn’t until I was about sixteen that I looked back on our trip to that restaurant and realized you might not have had as much fun as I did.”

Her dad stopped walking. “Leila, I did have as much fun as you did. Watching you bring your doll to the store, and having her put in her highchair and the two of us eating tater tots, is one of my fondest memories. Your big brown eyes were wider than I had ever seen them. It was like I took you to Disneyland and Sea World at the same time.”

“It was pretty cool, and my dolly, Polly, loved it.”

They continued their walk down the sidewalk.

She felt the first raindrop fall when they were at the crosswalk. “I was going to say that it might be nice to hit that restaurant with the outdoor seating four blocks down, but not so much anymore,” Leila winced.

I should have brought an umbrella.

By the time they’d crossed the street, it was a real downpour. Nothing new for Washington DC in May.

Why didn’t I bring a fucking umbrella!?

“Honey, are you okay?” her dad asked.

She gulped. “No. I don’t like it raining on me anymore. I don’t like it, Dad.”

“Shit.” Grant Cloud took off his overcoat and held it over his daughter’s head. Leila felt like she could breathe again. “If I thought it was just going to blow over, I’d say we could just stop in one of these stores.” He glanced up into the sky. “It looks like it’s here to stay.”

Leila tried to concentrate on what he was saying and not the way her wet hair felt, and the sound of the raindrops falling on his coat, right over her head.

“It’s only two blocks this way, before we get to the parking garage. Can you make it, sweetheart?”

Leila gritted her teeth. “Sure.”

It was a blur as her dad hustled her down the blocks to the bank building where his car was parked. When they went through the revolving door and made it into the enormous lobby, she was almost in tears. Her dad pulled her into his arms.
