I grin. “Pretty sure that’s illegal.”

She groans. Then kisses me.

When we break apart to catch our breaths, I can’t help but stare.

“You’re doing it again.” She laughs. “Find anything interesting?”

I tighten my hold around her. “As a matter of fact, I have.”

Her expression softens. “Oh?”

I caress her curves. “I think I’ve found the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with.”

For approximately three seconds, Rachel doesn’t move. Then her eyes widen. “Bronson...”

“I know it’s fast.”

She shakes her head. “No.”

“No?”

She smiles. “I was just thinking the same thing.”

This woman. I lift her hand to my mouth and kiss her knuckles.

“Then I guess we’ve got something to discuss.”

She grins. “Should I call my lawyer?”

I laugh. “Sweetheart, you’re going to be the death of me.”

“Guilty.” She leans a forward and kisses me. “Only if you can prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.”

EPILOGUE

RACHEL

“I knew it!”

Bronson chuckles as we walk through the doors of Murder at Midnight.

“Did you?”

“Detective, you cannot keep secrets from a woman who has watched every episode of Forensic Files.”

“Clearly.”

I grin.

Only a few months ago, I won a date with a detective at a charity bachelor auction.

And now? Now I’m ridiculously, hopelessly in love.

Which is probably why I don’t question it when Bronson announces that he’s arranged a private escape-room experience for our three-month anniversary.

Actually, that’s a lie. I’ve questioned him approximately seventeen times. But the man is annoyingly good at keeping secrets.

“Ready?” he asks.
