“Clint said no.”
“Clint is scared of being left alone.”
I twist until I’m kneeling between his legs. “You think we should prove it to him, too?”
“Of course. He’s pack.”
It’s that simple for this alpha.
“We don’t know where he is.”
“Oh, this town is tiny, I’m sure someone knows how to locate Holly.”
I consider this.
“I’m coming back. I’m not going to have anyone but you.”
Zaire smiles serenely. “I know that.”
I throw my arms around him, and then we both end up pitching sideways in the sand when Spectre joins us.
“We need to go find Jace and Felix.”
Zaire fights off the dog and then pulls me up. “Come on, Spectre, we need to go find Felix and Jace.”
He takes off running, seagulls flying around him, while magpies watch from electrical wires.
Felix is easy to find, the Sol’s have rallied around him, and he’s inside his house having an at-volume argument with someone.
We slip through the crowd of Sol’s unnoticed.
“I don’t care what Clint says. Clint’s an idiot, and if it takes a bond to show him that he’s mine, then I will do it.”
“Felix! You can’t force a bond on someone,” Milton says with cutting tones.
“Watch me!” Felix says in a vicious voice.
I beam at him. So cute.
“Clint doesn’t want you,” Sebastian snarls.
“Don’t you ever say that again!” Felix roars. “You don’t know what you’re talking about. You don’t know-”
“We know you’ve had a crush on him and Jace for years. You were never meant to be with them, they are not for you-”
“ENOUGH! They are my alphas. I won’t take another.”
I clear my throat and tilt my head to Zaire.
“Except him,” Felix says harshly when he recovers his wits. “He’s mine, too, clearly.”
“But, look, maybe you just-”
“Excuse me,” I say firmly, “those alphas are ours. Clint is having a little bit of an emotional fart right now. He needs our support, not everyone dumping him.”
They all stare at me.
“An emotional fart?” Lorelei asks faintly.
