Crash opens his arms, shoving Gummy out of his arms and rushing to hug me. “Son!”

Khione bounces up and ties her hair up in a bun on her head. “I’m riding Thunder.”

“Thunder? What’s a thunder?” Jace snaps and chases after her.

We stand beside the truck. I have to get up there with Jace. Clint is riding bitch with Harvest.

Khione has her own bike. She looks incredible. It’s not a Harley, though; it’s some kind of sports bike that I wanted to protest her riding, right up until I saw how she folded her body over it, and then I completely lost my train of thought.

“I feel like we should send Sunshine Cove a heads-up.”

I consider that for a long moment. “I don’t know who we’d send it to or what we’d say.”

Jace makes a sound of agreement, “which is why I haven’t sent anything.”

“All right?” Crash shouts. “Let’s get these kids home.”

They all cheer. The truck starts, and Jace and I climb up, while Spectre sits in the back of the cab, peering excitedly through the windows.

We’re going home.

With our omega.

And her entire club.

I start to laugh, and soon, Jace and Teddy join me.

I smile all the way back to Sunshine Cove.

Chapter 39

Epilogue Khione

Clint is in the kitchen mixing up pancakes that Zaire is cooking. Both of them are shirtless, and they brush against each other comfortably. Easily.

I sip my coffee and then stand up and walk down to the garage, where I find Felix struggling with his latest sculpture. He got an idea late last night and came out here. I’ve been up and checked on him a couple of times, but he’s absolutely fixated.

“Felix, we need to get ready. We’re having the big barbecue today. Multi-family and pack attendance.” He grunts, but when he turns, I discover he’s changed and appears ready.

Spectre is wearing a gorgeous bandana. It’s his favourite. I bought it for him after Halloween, and he now carries it around, using his best sad face, looking from person to person until we put it back on. It’s black with a little skull on it.

Dad was disgusted; he wanted to get him a collar with spikes.

We go back into the house and eat quickly and quietly. The silence is now the kind of comfortable silence that just shows how deeply comfortable we are with each other.

As we pack up and get ready, I reach out and grab Jace’s hand.

“Are you sure you’re all right?”

Jace’s eyes crinkle at the sides, and he leans forward, kissing my forehead. “I’m not sad my mum and Clint’s dad left town. I’m relieved. They never really fit in here, and after the trouble they caused, I’m not sure it ever would have been truly comfortable. This is a fresh start.”

I stare into his eyes, searching for a lie.

“Honestly, I was worried about Clint, but he’s fine. We’re happy. Beyond happy. This is a dream.”

He takes my hand and leads me down to the car. We all pile in and drive down to the beach, where we park and walk back towards town. Our families are on the beach, standing around a barbecue, with a whole heap of tents and umbrellas in the air.

Spectre and Danger take off, running towards the water.
