“It’s all right, Jace. I’m not going to jump you. Not unless you want me to and say in very clear words that you do.”
“So, there is a moral line in the sand? Jumping is a line, but kidnap is okay?” he asks bitterly.
“Only because you shouldn’t be with her, you should be with us. The worst part is that you know it, too.”
His breath fans my lips. The scent of leather and iris twist with my cinnamon sugar. We smell perfect together.
“What us? Felix hates us. Clint and I can’t be together without destroying everyone we love, and Zaire is a hot mess who would rather paint our brains on the walls than endure a conversation.”
“You think so lowly of our pack? Of me?” I snarl. I shove off his lap, leaving him in the loosened ties. “Go, then.”
He stands up. “Khione?”
“What am I, then?” I ask him, knowing it’s not fair to him or to me, but his words have enraged me so much that I’m not really thinking clearly.
“You are an anomaly that is leaving, remember?”
I spin around and stalk towards him. His eyes flash, and he leans towards me, I grab his shoulder and flip him onto the couch. He shouts, struggling, but I pin him and kiss him hard enough that I taste my own blood.
When I pull back, he struggles free of me and puts the couch between us.
“What happened to no jumping?”
I shrug my shoulders and reach up, bundling my hair into a loose bun on top of my head. “You irritated me. Besides, I think everyone should experience a kiss from their scent matches once in their life. Shake that off, explain it away, find a way to resist me now, you bastard.”
“Fuck!” Jace whispers. “You’re crazy.”
I laugh and glance at Zaire. “Finally clued them in.”
He smiles back. “You are the sexiest when you are being my little chaos queen.”
“Aww, Zaire Bear.” I skip over to him and sit on his lap, laying my head on his shoulder and letting out a purr that has Jace almost jumping out of his skin.
“Stop that!” he shouts.
“Or what?”
“Or…or…”
Felix shoves him onto the couch and kisses him. It’s fun to watch Jace fight not to kiss him back.
When the omega pulls back, he hums.
“You see it now, don’t you?” I ask the male omega.
Felix twists his lips and adjusts himself. Jace can’t peel his eyes away.
“Yeah, okay. Kissing them changes you.”
I giggle.
“Fuck,” Jace whispers, but he doesn’t get up, he’s drunk on omega kisses. He just stares at Felix until he remembers he shouldn’t, then he stares at me. He is delightfully ruffled.
“Call your date and apologise, Alpha. You won’t be seeing her again,” I say and flick lint off my pants.
“That’s not…I can’t…”
“Okay, how about this…you give us one month of dates, you go all-in on these Trick Knot Treat dates, and if at the end you still want to date this mystery girl, not one of us will stop you.”
