“It means,” I say, brushing my hair over my shoulder. “I love being an omega. I like attention and pretty things, and it has been killing me to be invisible.”
“And this glow-up is?”
“Me.” I run my hands down my cute pink T-shirt with the hearts on the front. It’s tight enough to show off my figure and all my curves. It would be hard to walk past and not see me now.
“Right. But can’t we just go back to the other clothes?” Zaire whines.
Actually whines.
“You are so adorable, Alpha. But no. Pandora's box has been opened, the cat is out. Besides, I’m fairly certain you knew what I looked like, you saw me in a towel that one time.”
“You saw her in a towel?” Clint whisper-shouts as he pants, having just returned to us. “I want to see you in a towel.”
Felix snarls, and to my utter delight, the alpha flinches.
“I had an idea, but the rest of Sunshine Cove didn’t,” Zaire mutters.
“Aw, you are so cute, Zaire Bear.”
“Shhh, don’t tell people that. What’s wrong with you?”
I giggle and bounce over to him. He pulls me into his side as we walk.
“So, you like pretty things, huh? You want to be spoiled and taken care of?”
“For the next month, yes. If you want to. You can spoil me.”
“Felix?”
“Try it, and I will stab people.”
“Got it. We’ve got one grumpy, antisocial omega and one princess,” Clint pretends to write it down, then he pauses. “Oh, can we do something illegal, like just a little bit?”
“No!” Zaire growls, then pauses. “Why?”
“I really want to see Jace’s face when he gets a look at our princess.”
Zaire considers it. “Okay. That would be fine.”
Spectre races up and puts his mouth in my hand, giving me a perfect rock. I look up, stunned, into the shocked faces of my pack.
“I told you, human,” Zaire says.
“Hey, can you send a police officer? There’s a dog pretending to be human. No, I’m serious. Deadly.”
In the background, I hear an older man growl. “I’m sending Jace. He was supposed to have the day off anyway. And don’t call me again, Clint. For fuck’s sake, I’m going to block your number one day.”
“Thanks, Chief!”
“I am not a damn chief. I am a sergeant.”
“Of course, of course.”
“Oh, go away. I was having a good day. Just take your damn stepbrother and tell him he’s on leave for the day.”
“Yes, sir! Thank you, sir. You won’t regret this, sir.”
“If you stay out of my hair, I will be thrilled.”
