I snort a laugh that turns into helpless giggles. Fuck, I missed him.
He strikes a pose and, sure enough, a button pops. It is clearly not something he is planning because his jaw drops, and he looks down at the shirt that is now gaping.
“Gian, perhaps you should spend less time working out.”
“This is all natural!”
“Sure!” I roll my eyes and then dive away as he lunges at me. “Hey!”
“Get off your ass, I’m hungry. Lets get food and plan a way for you to get laid because I have no doubt if you stick your dick in one of those omegas, you’re going to go gaga and forget all about our idiot mother and her ambition to marry you off to some passing princess.”
I get the giggles. “Did you hear about Suzanne?”
“Su-who-now?”
“Suzanne? She was a princess, Mum found her, and she wanted me to court her…oh, you didn’t know.”
“I was joking!” Gian shouts. “That woman needs a hobby!”
“Ah, well. Mum wasn’t. She was excited for a hot minute about having a royal connection.”
“I’m surprised you evaded her grasping claws.”
“Suzanne had a very protective alpha. He set everyone straight and whisked her away.”
“She’s out of control.”
I don’t disagree with him, but I don’t say anything as I lead him away from my hideaway.
“How did you find me?” I ask suddenly.
“Ah, well. I have a tracker in your arm.”
I snort a laugh. “Seriously?”
“No, Brother. I asked Clint. He knows you better than anyone else, and he knew where I could look.”
Oh.
“Come on. It’s you and me and the pub, where we can drink and just have a good night.”
I lean into Gian’s shoulder as we sing to one of our favourite songs. I haven’t been this drunk in so long, and I’m having a great time.
I stand up and topple sideways. Stupid world not staying upright.
“You two are hopeless,” Devon grumbles. “Why did you call me?”
Mack shrugs. “I was feeling mean.”
“I hate you.”
“You love me.”
“I love you, too!” Devon looks at me and scowls. “Nope. I’m still an asshole.” He pulls out his phone and puts it to his ear.
“Yo! Shithead. Get your ass up and come down to the pub and rescue your boyfriend.”
I miss the rest of the conversation because Gian shoves me off the chair, and we both end up on the ground, giggling.
