It’s partially why I purchased all of the images on that damned website. I’m not a creep that uses them, anyway. It was Artemis who sent me the link, asking if it was Avalon. I could recognize that soft, delicate neck with my eyes closed. The provocative poses, that thin, easily destroyable lingerie still lingers in my mind, fresh.
As I said, I’m no creep. I bought the images, then deleted them all. Though, I highly doubt Avalon’s going to see it for what it is once she finds out — and she’s bound to find out, sooner or later. I don’t want her to think I’m pitying her, or her financial situation. This is just a small step of starting to provide for her. Once this woman becomes mine, and she will, everything I own will be hers. If she wants to blow all the money, it’s hers to do that.
I’ll just earn more.
“Sir,” she breathes out, steeling herself for the words she’s going to utter. She fists her palms on her knees, then unclenches them in a swift motion. “I’m not exactly who you think I am.”
My brow lifts on its own accord, and I lean back, tea long forgotten. “Oh? Care to elaborate?”
Something in her expression shifts, and the determination returns, only it’s a million times more prominent. Her eyes are shining, and underneath all of that grit, a speck of uncertainty flashes. It’s small, and I wouldn’t have caught it, had it not been the fact that I’m keenly observing her eyes, her eyes only.
“I will be honest with you,” she says, yet her breath hitches, ever so slightly, and she swallows. “You’re a very, very attractive man—”
“I’m not that att—”, I interrupt her, only to be shot down with a simple glare.
“False humility is a cardinal sin.”
“No, it’s not,” I drawl.
She rolls her eyes. “It should be. Let’s not pretend you don’t know what kind of effect you have on both women and men alike. Which brings me to my point,” she pauses, taking a small intake of breath, though her determination falters. “You’re a very good looking man, and I can tell you’re a very kind person. But the feelings I’m starting to develop cannot happen here. The age gap is too big, and the consequences would be catastrophic for me.”
Shockwaves roll through my body, and I can barely focus on everything Avalon said, except for the fact that she is starting to develop feelings for me. My throat tightens, and for a brief moment, I’m unsure of how to react.
I expected this would be the case, however, I anticipated I’d have to pull the words out of her mouth. My heart feels warm, and something is fuzzy inside of my stomach. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this way, and the fact that she was the first one to bite the bullet, and decided to speak first could only mean one thing — she came here to withdraw before anything else could potentially happen.
I’m not letting that happen.
When I finally snap myself back to reality, Avalon is trying to pretend like she isn’t eagerly waiting for my answer. She’s holding the tea cup in both hands, trembling, and staring at the liquid.
“Put the cup down, Avalon. You’ll burn yourself.”
The command is subtle, and it’s enough for her to obey immediately. She slowly lowers the cup down, without tasting the tea and looks up at me. The moment her eyes meet mine, I rise from the chair. Avalon’s gaze follows my every step, until I reach her.
She looks up, and I cup her cheek, gently stroking the soft flesh. Her eyes close and just like the day at the library in my own home, she leans into the touch. It’s magnetic, and the excitement is already rushing through my veins. I’m unable to hold myself back any longer, not now that I’m certain she wants me, too.
I take her other hand, guiding her to stand. She follows my movements without objection. Her hand stops trembling the moment my fingers enclose around hers, and I gently push her against my desk, caging her between the hard surface and my body.
“We shouldn’t,” Avalon breathes out, the shakiness in her voice only making me more certain. Her eyes become glossy, and I’m too excited to see whether it’s with tears, or excitement. “Colton.”
This is the first time she used my name, and fuck — it’s the prettiest sound coming from her soft lips. They part a little and my thumb brushes against her bottom lip, eyes zeroing to the rosiness.
“Yes, my sweet girl?” I murmur, inching closer. I knew the nickname would fit her perfectly — her eyes darkening a shade. Her skin is covered with goosebumps, her breath stilling for a moment. Oh, those sweet brown, bambi eyes are so tempting, so inviting — so fucking mine.
She doesn’t speak, and that’s all I need.
My lips fall on hers, my hand threading to the back of her head, tangling with her hair. Avalon gasps loudly into the kiss, and just as I’m about to pull back, thinking she’s going to reject me — she wraps her arms around my neck.
Her lips are soft, tender and so much better than any imagination I might’ve had. Everything around us fades into the distance, and when she pulls her body backward, sitting on my desk and wraps her legs around me, I’m fucking gone.
Avalon’s holding me tightly, and the kiss goes from something tender, to two lust enchanted, hungry people trying to get their fill. It’s messy, it’s wild and I pour every ounce of passion into it.
Her fingers tug on my hair a little, and the girl doesn’t hesitate to bite down onto my lip. A growl comes from the back of my throat, and I grab hers, the other hand inching under her skirt, squeezing her supple flesh.
She’s giving me all access, her mouth parting for my tongue. She doesn’t even try to fight for dominance over the kiss, and even if she did try, it’s a game she’d lose quickly. This one, simple kiss is enough for me to find out what Avalon is craving the most.
She wants to be dominated in the softest of ways, to be led in the right directions, all while pretending she dislikes it. Everything I’m willing to give her, and so much more.
She doesn’t know that she sealed her destiny off with this kiss.
