“We need to find a way to get to that fucker and end him. We don’t want him free,” Cage grunts, and we all nod in agreement before he looks at Bones and asks, “How’s the garage?”
“Revenue is good, though the receptionist is getting pushy. She knows there is no fraternizing with the brothers, yet she has her sights set on me,” he explained, and I ask, “And what about this plan you have?”
He smirks, and everyone tenses.
Shit, this can’t be good.
Last month, the fucker said he had a plan with the Chargers to finally try and get rid of them. He wouldn’t tell us what it was, only that he’ll include us when he thinks he needs to, because, apparently, if he gets caught with whatever plan he has, he’s looking at up to fifty years in prison.
“I’ve decided to go ahead with it. I’m just monitoring at the moment, but I’ll let you all know when I take action, and hopefully, we’ll find Spider at the same time,” he says, and I blink, then blink again while his dad mutters, “Fuck,” knowing his son is a loose cannon.
Spider, his uncle, his father’s brother, turned traitor, all because he didn’t get the Treasurer role.
Turns out he’s been fucking Alexiana’s now dead father for years, giving him club information. The fucker helped Roxy get onto club property and into Crusher's home, which none of us knew where he lived.
She charged at Alex with a knife, but Alex, being Alex, tripped her, and the bitch ended up knocking herself out. Before Crusher shot her, she admitted to Spider being a traitor but refused to give his name unless we set her free. Her description of what his problem was made it obvious it was him, and now the fucker is MIA.
“Just, fuck, be careful,” Cage grunts, knowing he can’t change Bones’ mind on anything before he bangs the gavel and says, “Church over, Trick, Crusher, meet me in my office so I can write down your shifts.”
Everyone moves, and I wait until Killer has left before standing, though I don’t miss his side eye. Before I can take a step, my little brother grabs my arm, looking at me with concern.
“Is it true you asked Cage to have a cut made for Elenor? You don’t love her,” he says, and I swallow hard.
“We’ve been fucking since I was fourteen, it’s the right thing to do,” I mutter, but he shakes his head and denies, “No, it isn’t, and you know it. I can see the regret already. If she was madly in love with you, if she wasn’t fucking others, then fine, yeah, I understand. But she does fuck others, on a daily basis, don’t give her that cut!”
“Why not? I don’t want to fall in love, Hayes. I don’t want a family, and she is fine with that. I get pussy on tap, and the sex isn’t that bad,” I grit, “I mean fuck, look at my mom, look at our father and what he did. I don’t want a family that I’ll hurt, because let's face it, it’s in my fucking blood.”
His eyes race between mine before he asks, “You think I’ll ever hurt Alexiana?”
What the fuck?
I scowl, “Fuck no, that girl is your everything, you learned the fucking hard way by not using your brain where she is concerned.”
Like losing her for eight fucking years, then losing yourself…
“Then why would you hurt anyone?” he asks softly, and my stomach tightens. Squeezing my arm, he murmurs, “We’re blood, and you’re the best guy I know. An amazing uncle and an even better blood brother who never gave up on me, who never let me give up on myself despite what our father fucking did, so don’t give up on yourself, please.”
“Yo, Crusher, have you seen Blaze? A woman called Elenor is at the gate claiming to be his old lady and to be let in,” I hear Tray call and fuck, my stomach drops because I was going to go sit outside Blair's mama’s house again and ensure she was alright.
Fuck, what is wrong with me?
I just claimed a woman, and yet I’m basically stalking another?
I don’t know what Crusher sees, but he nods before he calls, “He isn’t here, tell her without his okay she can’t come in.”
“Alright,” Tray grunts then mutters, “I didn’t fucking see him leave and I’m pretty sure his bike is outside…”
I relax, I don’t mean to, but I do, and my little brother whispers, “That right there is proof you shouldn’t claim her, so fucking don’t. As soon as the coast is clear, get on your bike and go for a ride, clear your head because I promise you now, you claim that patch chaser because that is what she is, you will regret it.”
That said, he turns and walks away, and I swallow the lump forming.
If I don’t claim her, then my body will naturally gravitate towards Blair. Right now, even though I’m outside her home, ensuring she’s alright, my head isn't able to leave until I know she’s okay. Despite not knowing each other, despite knowing I’ve ordered Elenor a cut, but maybe I shouldn’t go there again, maybe I should…
Okay, just this one last time, I’ll check on her one more time, then I’ll go to Elenor, I’ll make an effort. I’ll help her pack to move into my home, and I’ll forget whatever connection this is I feel for Blair.
