I skid in front of Blair’s house ten minutes later with Trick right behind me after telling Clark to meet him at home when she tried to beg me not to ruin Blair’s plan to run. I rush towards the front door, grabbing my key. “Blair?!” I shout as I run into the house before I stop just at the threshold.
“Brother?” Trick snaps as he nearly hits me, and I swallow hard.
“She isn’t here,” I choke, and he scoffs, “How in the fuck do you know that? You’re only at the front door!”
“Snow didn’t greet me,” I breathe just as my phone goes off and I quickly grab it.
El:
baby please, call me, please, most of our life we’ve been there for each other, don’t let this girl get in between us xxx
I shake my head and swipe away Elenor's stupid ass message, knowing she’ll get her comeuppance soon, and press on one from Alex.
Alex:
I love you, you are my main priority, but she needs space. She is safe, and I’ll give her two days before I tell you where she is, but please give her this xx
“Alexiana knows where she is, but she’s told me to give her two days' space,” I grunt before I look around the living area and breathe heavy before I say, “Brother…”
“I’ll call Crusher now, get a few prospects, and Clark for the valuables. We’ll move her in yours,” he confirms and I nod as he goes outside and my eyes go to the photo of her and me on the side table, anger shooting through me that she didn’t give me a fucking minute to overcome the fact that my fear hit me dead in the fucking face. I turn and head towards the stairs ready to pack her shit.
“One day, that is all you get, baby.” I mutter because like fuck am I waiting two.
Chapter 20
Blair
I watch as Snow jumps around the shoreline, barking at the sea as it comes towards her paws, the sun setting in the background. I take a deep breath, my heart still pounding from yesterday, my heart pleading with me to go home, but I just can’t.
I asked him if he loved me, but he didn’t answer. Instead, he was closed off, and I get it, his fear had just happened, but it wasn’t just Elenor. The man was already paid to rape me and kill me by my sister, and her husband, who were desperate for the money I was left.
I did wonder why I hadn’t heard from her in a while, though. I sigh. Well, she’s probably going to get a shock when Mitchel’s friend doesn’t contact them.
I look down and squeeze my eyes tight, my head still a little sore as Snow's barks echo around me. My guilt builds for basically running away, for bringing Alexiana into this…
“Well, I wondered when you’d call me, I kind of feel unloved right now,” Alexiana answers, “Is it because I sucked at math and made it difficult for you?”
I snort as I walk out of the room with my bag and say, “Your math can’t be that bad if you got valedictorian,” before I clear my throat and ask, “I know this is out of the blue, but Linc mentioned the seashore house you stayed in. I was wondering if you still had the keys?”
“I do, why?” she asks curiously.
“Elenor tried to have me raped, Linc is blaming himself and shutting me out. I just, I need a few days to get my head fixed,” I admit quietly, just as Clark stops near me and states, “Miles is speaking to Blaze, if you want to leave, then you need to leave now.”
“You’re helping me?” I ask with a shocked choke.
She smiles softly and murmurs, “I’ve been in the situation of a growly biker not allowing me time to cool down. So yes, I’m helping you,” just as Alexiana states, “Meet me at the ice rink, I have the keys, and I’ll make sure he gives you two days.”
Well damn.
I blocked them both out after losing my parents, yet they were there for me in my time of need, and honestly, it tugged at my heart.
Snow barks with excitement, and I look up to see what has her attention just as my body tingles and relaxes. A sensation of home hitting me before strong hands glide on my hips, then around my midriff, before I’m pulled back against a hard body. I feel warm lips touching my neck, and I close my eyes as I lean into my love.
Well, so much for two days, though it is good to know that he came after me…
“Shortcake, I love you,” he whispers that has my eyes tearing, “and if you wanted to run away for some time, you shouldn’t have come somewhere I knew you’d be after you called Alex,” he places another kiss on my neck then confesses, “When we go home in a few days because I’m not dick enough to drag you away when your head is all over the place, you’ll be putting your place up for sale. I’ve already packed your shit and unpacked it at our house, it’s why I didn’t come straight after seeing you were gone.”
