“Transfer her a hundred thousand from my bank,” Blair whispers, and I look at her with a soft smile.
Fuck me, this girl.
“What?” Halsy chokes in shock, and I smile and admit, “My girl was given a trust on her twenty-fifth birthday, over a million dollars, that continues to build with interest. You’ll have the money within the hour. Pack up, Halsy, go find someone who loves you for you and live your life.”
“I-I can’t, I don’t –”
“Do it,” I say, cutting her off, “be happy.”
“Thank you so much,” she cries, and I smile and murmur, “Any fucking time, goodbye Halsy,” before hanging up, and I lock eyes with my girl.
“I love you, you know that?” I say, and she smiles, not moving her head from my neck.
“I love you too, now transfer the money and take me back to bed,” she replies, and I grin before logging onto the banking app that she set up on my phone and do exactly what she requested before I spend the rest of the night inside my girl while fucking praying she doesn’t hate me for planning what I have to plan with Elenor.
No one risks her life, fucking no one, and if I have to kill for her, then I will. El isn't the first, and she won’t be the last, because where Blair is concerned, this monster will slay to keep her safe.
Chapter 22
Blair
“Okay, so I brought you something new, a silver bracelet, something old, Ms. Hallows' anklet, something blue, a garter... Um, what else am I missing?” Alex mumbles as she looks at the stuff on the table, and I grin widely as Mama mentions, “Something old, which is me.”
Damn woman.
“Mama, you’re not old,” I chuckle while Alex’s eyes widen in shock.
She grins as she slowly walks my way and says, “True, which is why I brought you this,” and she holds up a delicate, small tiara, and my eyes tear up.
“That was my mom’s…” I choke with confusion.
I thought everything got sold…
First the engagement ring and now this.
Mamma gently places it on my now curled hair that is up in a fancy twist that Alex did, a few pieces of curled hair framing my face.
Alex snaps, “Do not cry, I just finished your makeup!” and I choke out a laugh as Mama kisses my cheek. I turn and look in the full-length mirror, and I take a deep breath.
I look like a bride…
Waking up this morning to my fiancé telling me we were getting married today, it shocked me, I’ll admit it, but I didn’t say no. I got my dress that I wore yesterday out and said okay, but when Alex walked in with a white, strappy dress, along with my mama and Alice, letting me know Blaze demanded they were here and that she brought a dress. I cried because he thought of everything I would have wanted.
Apparently, Crusher rode with Ms. Hallows, Alice, Kayden, and Alex and will be riding Linc's bike back while Alex drives their truck. My soon-to-be husband will drive my car back home, after our ceremony.
Something about carrying his bride over the threshold after we go visit my parents and his mom, because they deserve to hear from us in person that we’re married and expecting.
He basically came after me and took over and has been extremely demanding.
“Thank you, Mama,” I whisper, and she nods, her eyes tearing before she kisses my head, then whispers, “I am so proud that you let him in, I’m proud of the woman you have become, and I’m proud that I get to call you my daughter. I love you.”
I wrap my arms around her as a tear falls, and Alex groans, “Dammit, now I’ve got to redo all of our makeup,” and I chuckle as I hold my mama tighter.
I’m forever grateful that she fought for me and ensured I was never alone when I was adamant about being by myself. She never left me and neither did Linc…
I’m about to get married when I said I never would. Holy moly.
