He looked at me for a long time. I ain’t offering his bitch ass shit! Fuck him! And by the way he shook his head, he knew I had nothing for him anyways! Despite all that, he still took the cuffs off of me.

“Take her and take her now! Not to another bar. Not to another public place. HOME! And when she sober up, tell ha ass her mouth bad!”

“Yeah and it still make my nigga’s dick spit, so what?!”

“CASS!” Kenzie groaned.

She snatched my ass up, dragging me to the truck with Devyn. Tati grabbed my phone, thanking the bitch one more time before she followed behind us. Once inside, I started BAWLING. I tried to answer for Kenzo, but they took my phone and hid it.

All I fucking want is my parents and my man!

Chapter 15: Pieces

Devyn’s POV

Me: Um...hi.

My hands were shaking from bad nerves and anger. The ride home, we had to stop three times for Cassandra to puke. Security helped us carry her up to the apartment from the garage. Now the girls are showering her, ordering food, and giving her water. A complete coddle.

The line went silent for a moment.

Duke: Are you okay? I can come to wherever you are.

Me: I’m fine, my friend just got drunk and acted a fool in public. I’m so angry and upset. I wanted to hear your voice to calm down but I can’t. I have to say something and I’m scared of how she’ll react.

Duke: Then don’t say anything. You gotta push that anger down and approach your friend when you’re calm. You could say some shit you can’t come back from.

Me: I’ll try.

Duke: I’m at the shop and can wait for you to leave.

Me: Yeah. I’ll need to shower and things.

Duke: I’ll see you.

Me: Bye.

I started pacing in my room as the girls laughed in the kitchen. No lights were on and the sun left during the drive. My feet carried me back and forth, back and forth, over and over again. I want to relax, ask Cassie to speak tomorrow and then leave. I want to give her sympathy for missing the visitation. The anger in me would not go away, however.

I can’t help it. I have to say something.

My hand hovered over my room doorknob before yanking down on it, pulling the door open. All three of them glanced at me before carrying on. Kenzie, Tati, and I were dressed the same. Cassandra was showered, wrapped up, and looking like she caused no issues. She’s way better than she was previously. Plus, they ordered food so she finally ate. Something I tried to get her to do all damn day.

My arms and legs frosted over with chill bumps as I walked towards them. The floor was cold on the soles of my feet. Once I reached the island, I had to grip on it to make sure they wouldn’t notice my hands shaking. While everyone else moved normally, I was feeling so many emotions.

“You hungry?” Kenzie asked.

“No,” I responded short and flat. This caused them to look at me. “Cassie, can we talk?”

“Go ahead!” she smiled a little. Her pretending like she had no idea what pissed me the fuck off angered me.

“Cassie, what you did on the dock was insane! You could’ve went to jail! We all could’ve! Every single one of us was drinking, you should be glad he even let us leave with you!”

“I should be glad? What about that old nigga? He approached me! You act like I found him. But you wouldn’t have noticed because you were too busy on your phone talking to whatever nigga you think is worth putting in your back pocket.”

“That’s the thing. I should be able to walk away from you and talk to whoever the hell I want because you’re a grown woman and should never be that drunk! I should never have to babysit a twenty-seven-year-old woman!”

“Oh Devyn, please, hoe. This isn’t a good day for you to try to be going back and forth with me. I’m telling you right now, I’m getting irruhtated. If you wanna talk, talk but I’m not about to argue with you.”
