Flint laughs.

“Of course you are.” He leans back, and the chair creaks under him. He stretches both arms up over his head, and his shirt pulls tight across his chest and biceps.

I smile. “The last thing we ate was ice cream. That was forever ago.”

“You’re right.” He nods. “We missed lunch.” He drops his arms and rubs a hand over his abs. “I’m frustrated and hungry. I’m going to shower. Then I think we should go out for dinner.” He looks at one of the bags on the bed. “You can wear one of those wigs, and I know just the place to take you.” He’s smiling. “It’s in a sketchy part of town, but it’s aboveboard, I promise. Nobody you know would be caught dead there. I’m talking chicken wings, fries, onion rings, and a jukebox that only plays eighties music.”

“I would literally kill for those things.”

“Oh, and cold beer on tap.”

“Holy shit.” I point at the bathroom door. “Now you’re talking my language. Go! Shower! When you come out, you can tell me whether you would like to date a blond or a redhead tonight.”

His smile dies. “I don’t date my staff.”

I roll my eyes. “I’m teasing, you idiot!”

“In that case, you can surprise me.” He walks into the bathroom and closes the door.

I flop back onto the bed and stare at the ceiling.

He’s back within five minutes with a white hotel towel low around his waist. Flint has a set of abs on him and that whole V-thing going on. I’m sure he works out all the time.

He doesn’t look at me. He goes straight to his bag at the foot of the bed, crouches, and starts digging through it, so I prop myself up on my elbows and let myself look.

I probably shouldn’t, but what the hell?

Water beads on his shoulders. It runs in lines down his back. There’s a small scar along his hip right where the towel is knotted, and, I must say, it isn’t doing such a great job. It stops mid-thigh. His thighs are huge. His biceps too. If he opened his legs just a little more, I might get a glimpse of his impressive cock.

If I don’t stop staring soon, I might drool.

It doesn’t help that he told me he’s attracted to me. Or that I know how well he can kiss.

I felt a whole lot of something during that kiss.

He pulls out a pair of jeans, holds them up, and tosses them on the bed. Goes back in for a shirt.

I keep thinking about the way he kissed me in the car. I think about the sound he made.

Before I can talk myself out of it, I stand.

Flint straightens with a black T-shirt in one hand and finds me a foot away from him. His eyes go over me once, fast, and come back to my face.

“Are you okay?” He frowns.

“I’m just going to come out and say it.”

“Um…okay…” He looks concerned and sounds unsure.

“Jett has moved on.” I fold my arms. “You saw him. He’s happy, and I’m ready to move on too.”

He swallows hard. “Okay. That’s good. I’m glad you’re—”

“You told me you’re attracted to me.”

He frowns, folding his arms.

“Listen…Star, I—”
