I have the experience to back them up
I couldn't suppress my snort.
He did have a lot of experience when it came to seducing me. Although technically, we just kind of jumped each other most of the time that we were together. No seduction required.
Me
Lol
I think I'm going to try to sleep
King
Alright
I'll see you in the morning
Goodnight
Me
Goodnight
I set my phone down, and tried once again to sleep.
I managed to get some rest on and off, dozing fitfully but never fully falling asleep.
Eventually, morning came around. I stumbled to the door, tugging it open and leaning heavily against the thick wood.
My entire body clenched with the need to touch him as soon as I saw the huge, sexy vampire on my doorstep. Not to touch him sexually, but just to touch him. Hug him. Be snuggled by him.
His eyes moved slowly over my face, then down my body, taking in my appearance.
I hadn't really tried.
Putting clothes on and taking them off still hurt my shoulder a little, so I was wearing yesterday's sports bra, one of our team's t-shirts, and a pair of spandex shorts. My well-worn sandals were on my feet, showing off the electric blue, terrazzo-style nail polish that Mallory had painted for me two weeks earlier.
I looked him up and down too.
Ripped jeans. A fitted gray t-shirt. Wings, threatening to emerge. Unlike me, he looked like he'd gotten a good night's rest.
"Hey," I said, to break the silence. It wasn't awkward, but there was tension behind it. The good kind of tension.
"Hi. How did you sleep?"
"So good," I lied.
King lifted an eyebrow at me.
I was a terrible liar. Always had been.
I stepped outside and shut the front door behind me. King plucked my sporty, tan crossbody bag off my good shoulder, then hung it off his own.
He looked like he was debating something.
