Dimitri pouted. But he looked good pouting as per usual. Jack had gotten him all dressed up in iconic green from head to toe. He dyed his hair a vibrant red. He wrapped these gorgeous leafy vines around Dimitri’s neck, chest, and torso. Jack even managed to coil the end of it around Dimitri’s right thigh.
But Dimitri kept trying to wriggle free, so much so that his fluffy tail kept tugging at the vines.
“These pants are uncomfortable.”
“Well, it was either that or the dress,” Jack retorted.
“A dress would have been better. Breezy.”
Jack cocked his head and made a bemused expression. He’d definitely have to remember that for the future.
“Oh my God, I adore the Harley and Ivy costumes.” A woman dressed as the universe’s most powerful moon princess stopped to take them in. “Love a good crossplay.”
She pointed to two men in her group who were dressed in the same theme as the moon princess. The guys wore short skirts, high heels, tight blouses, and stylish tiaras.
“See, I could have put you in that.” Jack elbowed Dimitri teasingly.
“I would wear it all except for the foot prisons.” Dimitri shuddered at the very idea, then wiggled his clawed toes.
Jack smiled at the moon princess and twirled for her to show off his costume. He even did a little kick with his leg, lifting it behind him to pose as he held an oversized hammer behind his head.
He could never truly decide on a favorite Harley ensemble, so he sort of mixed and matched some vibes. He’d altered the colors of his enchanted pumpkin with streaks of pink and blue since no one here would see his hair underneath. He wore a black and red crop top, though it was so skimpy it barely covered his chest. The left pec had a heart symbol, and the right had a diamond. Jack had gone with matching shorts and put a spade symbol on his right cheek and a club on his left.
“But I don’t get what the mashup is.” The moon princess pointed to Jack’s pumpkin head and then to Dimitri’s large antlers adorned in flowers.
“Holy hell, Tiffany!” One of the guys walked over and pointed a finger at Jack. “That’s the Horseless Headsman getup.”
The moon princess, Tiffany, looked at Jack for a moment. Her eyes got wide with excitement.
“Eeee, you’re right, Rex!”
“Hey, Derek, check it out,” Rex called his friends over.
Derek dragged over another woman dressed in a black tuxedo with a top hat and cape. She seemed somewhat preoccupied with her phone as Tiffany tried to get her attention.
“Beth, look at him.” Tiffany pointed at Jack.
“Who is this Beth you speak of?” She covered her face with the cape, leaving only the mask visible. “I am—”
“Just pay attention for one second.” Tiffany pointed at Jack again.
“Oh, shit,” Beth said with a light laugh. “He looks just like Jack Whoa Lantern.”
“Right? Only hotter.”
“I swear, I’ve seen so many of his videos,” Beth said, eyeing Jack up and down. “You pull off the look way better.”
“Hands down.” Tiffany nodded. “Just look at those abs.”
Tiffany and Beth then proceeded to mock Jack Whoa Lantern for the next several minutes, expressing why Jack’s cosplay of the legendary Horseless Headsman was way hotter. It was a first for him. On more than a few occasions, he’d been told he didn’t look as good in person or as scary. It all depended on which posts his followers vibed with most.
After a grueling conversation where Jack politely nodded his head to Tiffany and Beth as they continued unknowingly bashing his content, Dimitri finally intercepted.
“Go away, we are bored with this conversation.”
“Okay, rude much?” Tiffany quirked a brow.
“Leave.” Dimitri snarled, his eyes glowed a brighter green, and his antlers twisted into gnarled shapes. Darkness quickly coated his flesh and took on a spiked form.
