He was so close I could feel his breath on my neck. Mystery Man watched us intently, glancing down at my wrist before looking away.

“Yes sir,” I saluted, pulling away and shoving the hundred in my bra, hoping the gesture would make him think filthy thoughts.

“Anything else, gentlemen?” I purred.

“No, thank you,” Danny said, looking suspiciously at Mafia and me.

I left the room, realizing how much tension was in the there now that I had left.

“You ok?” Judd asked.

“Yeah, it’s intense in there,” I said, patting his shoulder and rushing to go get two bottles so I could get back to my tables.

As Mason got my tray ready. I walked by some tables that hadn’t had refills, checking to see if everything was fine. Thankfully, the girls and whatever deals they were intensely talking about kept them preoccupied.

I was out of breath as I returned to shouting so loud, I could hear them in the hallway. Judd shook his head as another shout and a loud bang made me flinch. He opened the door, shaking his head as he went into the room, coming back quickly.

“I’d make it quick,” Judd said, walking in with me.

“I’m back!” I said, hoping to ease the stifling tension.

No one said anything as they glared at each other. I set my tray down, flinching slightly from the pain in my wrist. Mystery Man glanced at me, more like glared at me, but I realized this was his default setting when he was in a meeting.

I served the senator first, along with his four-man entourage. They all thanked me before I moved on to Mafia and Mystery.

“Y’all keep watching me like this, you’re going to give me performance anxiety,” I chuckled, showing Mafia the bottle.

“Could you have picked a more expensive bottle?” Mafia said raising a brow.

“Yes, figured you were snooty, but well refined, which is why I picked this one,” I smirked, hoping for a chuckle or smile, but he gave me nothing. “Next time, be more specific,” I sassed, getting irritated.

Mafia narrowed his eyes, trying to make me sweat as I opened the bottle, not getting it on the first try.

“If you need assistance—”

“Calm your tits,” I said, getting the bottle open and pouring three fingers of the whiskey.

“I thought I might have to rescue you and do your job,” he taunted, as I poured another glass.

“Nah, I would just break the bottle on your head and serve it to you with a little extra surprise,” I said, closing the bottle and setting it between them.

I had hoped for Mystery Man to say something, except he didn’t even spare me a glance or even a thank you when I slid the glass in front of him.

Mafia opened his mouth, but I was getting irritable for no fucking reason.

“Anything else, gentleman?” I interrupted, ignoring Mafia and Mystery.

“No, come back in about twenty minutes,” Danny said, handing me another two hundred-dollar bills with a smirk and a wink.

“Thank you,” I said, stuffing it in my bra with the other ones. “Have fun, boys.”

I walked away, taking a deep breath, Judd followed me out.

“Next time don’t be so cheeky with them. Get in and get out,” Judd said, closing the door.

“They asked for me,” I said walking away. “I won’t put up with bullshit and Danny knows that. He wanted me to be sassy.”

“You don’t know that,” he yelled.
