Two a.m. hit and I was losing gas, not used to working to this late hour. I dropped off drinks for another table when I took a quick break. Mason handed me a Red Bull—that man was a fucking saint—it wasn’t something I drank often. It left me feeling wired for too long, but it was a necessity since I had two hours left of my shift and I didn’t want to fall asleep at the wheel. Madame Red had some rooms reserved for us if we couldn’t drive home. Staying here felt weird to me. So much energy and chaos left me feeling overstimulated to the point where I couldn’t relax.

The Red Bull tasted gross as I chugged it down, the flavor lingering on my tongue; I needed a chaser to get rid of most of it. After a quick bathroom break, I stretched, shaking my limbs to wake me up a little more. Taking one more look at myself in the enormous mirror in our locker, I headed back out, feeling a little better.

“Xiomara!”

I looked back seeing Madame Red and Mistress Lux walking to me looking so damn sexy. Each woman dressed to accentuate their figure and let me tell you, all that came to mind was leather mommies. Woof.

“Yes, Madame. Mistress,” I said, facing them.

“We need a word,” Mistress Lux said, nodding her head toward the hallway that had all of the offices in.

Dammit, was I getting fired?

I followed them down the hall as they spoke in hushed tones, making my anxiety worse. They walked into Madame Red’s office, holding the door open for me. I sat in front of the large dark desk as Madame Red took a seat and Mistress Lux stood to her right.

They studied me for a moment as every bad thought went through my mind.

“Am I getting fired?” I asked, hating the silence.

Mistress Lux smirked. “No, we actually have a proposition for you.”

“It's an unusual request, but I thought it would be best if we asked you first before we answered,” Madame Red said, leaning forward.

“Ok,” I said warily.

“You can say no,” Mistress Lux said quickly.

I nodded ready to scream for them to spit it out.

“We have a customer who wants a private dance,” Madame Red said stoically.

“But I’m just a waitress,” I said slowly.

“We are aware, but this client has offered twenty thousand dollars,” Mistress Lux said casually, as if she was talking about the damn weather.

“Excuse me?”

“He offered twenty thousand, but five will go to the club and the rest will go to you,” Madame Red said.

“Fifteen thousand for what…twenty minutes?” I stammered.

“Fifteen minutes,” Madame Red corrected.

“Oh, hell,” I said, wondering who the hell would pay me fifteen thousand to watch me dance, and they had no idea if I could.

“I…are they sure they want that? I mean, I’m not—” I didn’t know what else to say.

“Oh, he didn’t care,” Mistress Lux chuckled. “He said he'd be happy if you just swayed your hips for him or whatever you want.”

I raised my brow.

“Of course, if at any moment you feel uncomfortable you can end it,” Madame Red said. “If I’m being honest, he doesn’t seem like a man who would do anything to you. I've heard he likes to watch more than participate.”

“Oh, but nothing sexual, right?” I knew the answer but wanted confirmation.

“No, he doesn’t even get to touch you. You will be in a room with a platform and a pole. He will stay seated,” Mistress Lux said. “Unless you choose to get near him, we will instruct him to stay seated. “

Fifteen thousand. One thousand for every minute with this man and all I had to do was dance for him? This sounded too good to be true, this would help give me a cushion with my grandparents’ care and I wouldn’t be so tight with money. This was a stupid idea, one that I shouldn’t say yes to.
