Sol groaned the second she saw it.
“Oh my God. Here we go.”
“Call Zari.”
She folded her arms. “You are serious?”
I looked at her.
“I told you that last night.”
Then I found Sugga’s name.
Mama was about to lose her fucking mind.
And Kai?
That nigga was never going to let me live this shit down.
I didn’t care.
Twenty-four hours ago, I’d driven into the mountains with the woman I loved.
Now I was leaving with my wife.
At least if I had anything to do with it.
And judging by the woman standing in front of me trying not to smile while reaching for her own phone, I had a feeling I wasn’t the only one ready to stop waiting.
I stared at my phone like Sol had just called and told me she was pregnant with twins.
“Bitch, what?” I blurted.
“A’Zaria,” Sol groaned.
“No.” I pushed myself up from the couch, pressing the phone harder against my ear. “Say that shit again, because I know I did not just hear what I think I heard.”
Sol went quiet for half a second.
Then she said it again.
“Me and Roman are getting married.”
My mouth fell open.
“WHEN?”
“Today,” Sol answered.
“BITCH!”
I shot to my feet so fast I almost knocked over the glass sitting on my coffee table.
“Keep your voice down!” Sol hissed, but I could hear the nervous laugh underneath it.
“Keep my—Sol, you called me talking about you getting married **today** like you telling me you changed your lunch order. What the fuck happened?”
“It just… happened,” she said.
