Another kick pressed against my palm.

I grinned. "That's my boy."

Halo looked down curiously, following my hand to Sol's stomach.

"Baby?" she asked, pointing.

Sol's entire expression softened. She touched Halo's cheek with the tips of her fingers. "Yeah, mama. Your baby brother."

Halo stared at Sol's stomach for another second like she was trying to understand.

Then she leaned forward in my arms and pressed a tiny kiss against it.

That shit nearly took me out.

I turned my head away and tightened my jaw, hoping nobody had noticed how hard that little moment hit me.

Of course Sol noticed.

She always did.

"You about to cry?" she asked, smiling up at me.

I immediately frowned. "No."

Sol's smile widened. "You are."

"I ain't."

She tilted her head and studied my face. "Your eyes are glossy."

"Shut up, Soleia."

Before she could answer, Kai's loud-ass voice came from somewhere behind me.

"Rome crying?"

I turned around and found my brother standing there with the biggest grin on his face.

"I'll beat your ass in front of all these people," I warned, pointing at him.

Zari started laughing beside him, leaning into Kai's shoulder for a second before catching herself and straightening back up.

Sugga pointed at Kai. "Leave my baby alone!"

I slowly looked at my mother. "Now I'm your baby?"

Sugga wiped the last of her tears from her cheek and gave me a look like I'd asked the dumbest question in the world. "You always my baby."

Halo started laughing because everybody else was laughing.

Sol leaned into my side, her body fitting against mine while one of my arms held my daughter and the other wrapped around my wife.

My palm rested over my son.

People could say we moved too fast.

I didn't give a fuck.
