“I want you to kiss me.”
Chapter 17
She wasn’t usually this brazen, but given the way he was holding her and gazing at her, she felt emboldened.
He zoned in on her lips, but still, he held back.
“Chloe, I…”
“Please, Bryce. Just one kiss. I promise I won’t ask for anything else. I just want to know what I’ll be missing out on.”
He chuckled and shook his head in amusement.
Then he slowly brought his hands up and cupped her face.
Her heart was pounding out of her chest, and she moistened her lips in anticipation.
Apparently, that was his undoing, because he made a growly sound deep in his throat and then leaned in. “Just one kiss,” he said.
His lips brushed hers, hesitantly at first, but when she slid her arms around his neck and pressed her chest against his, he deepened the kiss.
It was everything she’d imagined and more, and she sank into it, into him. His warmth and intoxicating scent surrounded her, his hands still cupping her face and thumbs caressing her cheeks.
She felt his erection between them, and she rubbed against it, pleased that she was the cause of it.
He groaned and then slipped his tongue inside her mouth. He moved his hands down to her shoulders and then buried them in her hair. God, how she loved his hands on her. They were warm and steady, and she imagined they were capable in every way.
After an indeterminable amount of time, he reluctantly pulled back, and she felt the loss immediately. She’d asked for just one kiss, and that was what he’d given her, but she wasn’t ready for it to be over yet.
Thankfully, he wasn’t either, because he nuzzled his face in the crook of her neck and nibbled on her skin.
“Yes,” she said and tipped her head back to give him better access.
Then he moved to the other side of her neck, nipping, kissing, and sucking on her sensitive skin. She arched back, and his hands gripped her hips to hold her in place.
He kissed a path up to her ear and whispered, “You don’t know how badly I’ve wanted to do this.”
She shivered. “Me too.”
He pulled back again and gazed at her with fire burning in his eyes. “If we continue, there have to be rules.”
At that point, she’d agree to name her firstborn child after him, if that’s what he wanted. “Of course.”
He gently traced her lips with his index finger, and they parted of their own accord.
“Rule number one, this stays between us. Nobody else can know, especially not Molly.”
“Agreed.”
He trailed his finger down her chin and over her throat, where her pulse was pounding rapidly.
“Rule number two, we reserve this for when Molly’s not here.”
“In other words, no sneaking into your bed at night.”
He grinned and dipped his finger into the split of her blouse.
“And rule number three…” He didn’t get to finish, because his phone rang and vibrated loudly against the kitchen counter.
