“Do that and we won’t go anywhere.”
“Well, I don’t know where we’re going, so I can’t say another round of sex isn’t better.”
I roll my eyes. “Two orgasms and you still want more. Greedy.”
“That’s me.” He grins and I ignore him to finish getting dressed.
Despite commenting on the size of my sweatshirt, he puts it on. It is big on him. Way too big, but he somehow makes it work, pulling his jacket over it and zipping it up.
We head outside and I lead us toward the bus.
“Does it even run at this hour?”
“Of course it does,” I say. “I think it runs all night, just less as it gets later.”
He hums a sound of acknowledgement. We get on the bus and get off when we reach the arenas. We walk to the ice-skating rink, around to the side door that I was told would be left open for me.
“Please tell me you’re not going to do some cute shit where you teach me how to ice skate,” he says as he hesitates at the door.
“You think that’s cute?”
“In theory? Yes. In reality? It’s fucking terrifying.”
I laugh, gesturing for him to come in. “We’re not going on the ice.”
“Oh, thank God,” he breathes out, looking truly relieved. It’s a good thing I decided against that, but originally, it was what I wanted to do. But it felt too… Hallmark movie.
Not that what I’m doing is any better, but at least he won’t have a panic attack.
“Though I do expect you to tell me why sports tried to kill you.”
“Oh, no…”
“Non-negotiable,” I say.
To which he doesn’t respond.
I push the button for the elevator. Étienne eyes me as we wait for it, and even more once we’re on and I press the button for the fifth floor—the top.
“Are you taking me here to murder me?”
“Now why would I murder you when there’s still so much time for us to fuck?”
“Good point. Is that what you’re bringing me up here to do? You have a public place kink?”
I laugh as the elevator stops and the doors open. “I do not. Do you?”
“No, I don’t like being quiet or trying to hide.”
“Clearly,” I mutter, walking down the hall toward the door labeled rooftop.
“That door is lo—”
He doesn’t even finish the word when I push on it and it opens. I smirk and gesture for him to go up.
“I’m impressed.”
“It’s good to know people,” I say.
