Judy didn’t move.

No one else in the room moved either.

The photograph of the seventh victim waited inside her folder.

Glossy pink nails.

“Did Emily wear pink polish?” Judy asked.

“No. She hated pink.”

“Did anyone admit leaving it?”

“We thought it was a prank.”

“Who suggested that?”

“I don’t remember.”

“Think.”

Rylie closed her eyes.

The room remained silent.

Max pressed closer to her chair.

“Cynthia,” she finally said. “Cynthia Parker laughed and said one of the boys was trying to get Emily’s attention.”

Cynthia Parker.

The first Dallas victim.

Judy wrote the name in her notebook.

“Did Emily report the incident?”

“She told the camp director.”

“What did he do?”

“He searched the cabin and told us to keep the doors locked.”

“Name?”

“Mr. Mills.”

Judy’s pen stopped.

“Walter Mills?”

“I don’t know his first name. Everyone called him Mr. Mills.”

Sheriff Tate spoke from behind her.

“Walter owned the camp. His sons handled most of the daily operations.”

Judy looked at him.
