Shaking my head, I flicked off the light and walked out of the kitchen to my bedroom. “Apparently, a few screws, crazy. I don’t want that man. I don’t know that man.”
“The first part of your statement I don’t believe. The second part, we can work around.”
“T, he might very well still be with his baby mama. That could be the reason why she felt a way about her son hugging me.”
Taina’s expression changed as she got closer to her screen. “Or they not, and she picked up on the fact that her baby father is feeling you. Were they acting like they were together?”
I paused at the entrance of my bedroom. That was a harder question to answer because looks could be deceiving.
“I mean, they weren’t holding hands or nothing. But who really does these days?”
“Ummm, me. I can’t wait to be in a relationship again where a nigga wanna hold my hand. And don’t let him initiate it just off the strength. Girl, what? Immediate dick suck.”
When she pretended to suck the air, I howled.
“Tainaaa.”
“What? I am so forreal.”
“Bitch, I’m literally crying right now.”
This girl was so funny. She couldn’t help but to say some wild shit.
“How ‘bout we make a bet? Or wait, is this really a bet? No, it’s not a bet; it’s more of a deal.”
“You know I really hate when you do that, right?”
“Do what?”
“Have a conversation with your damn self while you talkin’ to me.”
“Oh.” She snickered. “My bad. But yeah, let’s make a deal. How ‘bout if you find out he’s with the baby mother, you don’t pursue, but if he’s not, you let him pursue you.”
Shaking my head, I laid across my bed. “I don’t pursue niggas, so that deal wouldn’t even work.”
She pressed her lips together. “I hate to do this to you, friend, but if you don’t see wassup, I’ma call up that distillery myself and track me a Sullivan down.”
“Girl, why are you trying to hand me off to this man?”
“Ion know. It’s just something about him. You know I’m big on energy.”
I squinted, and my lip curled. “Bitch, no, you not. Stop making shit up.”
She giggled. “You saw how serious I got?”
“Yes.” I laughed. “’Bout to piss me off.”
“I thought that shit was gon’ move you.”
“Well, it didn’t. Like I said, he’s a parent. I’m not gonna cross that line.”
“Booooo.”
“Shut up. I’ma ‘bout to get off this phone with you, so I can go read. Call me in the morning.”
“Hol’ on, you still reading that series?”
“Yes. The one that you abandoned.” I rolled my eyes. “I’m on part two. Been in here crying and all. Nai know she wrong.”
