Instead of answering, she looked me up and down, licking her lips.

“What you on?”

She smiled. “Why I gotta be on something?” she questioned innocently, closing the space between us.

“You want some dick?”

She reached for the front of my shirt in response. I caught her wrist just before she could lift it up.

“I ain’t on that right now.”

She drew her head back, eyebrows pulling together.

“You ain’t on that?” she repeated. “Since when?”

“Since right now. I got somewhere to be.”

“Now this.”

I chuckled. “Now what?”

Her hands found her hips. “Now, you ain’t on that. Any other time, you feenin’ for some pussy from me. Now, you got somewhere to be?”

Offended, I had to burst her bubble. “I think you’re confusing feenin’ wit’ accessibility. I ain’t feened for no pussy since I first got a taste of it at fourteen. Other than that, a nigga ain’t never feened for it.”

“Jamison, please. You know exactly what I mean.”

“Nah, I know what you said.”

She folded her arms. “Yeah, whatever new bitch you fuckin’ got you feelin’ it. It’s cool though.”

I smiled. “You know what’s so wild? I ain’t even hit yet. But yeah, lemme slide before I’m late.” I opened the door and walked out, leaving her standing there in her feelings.

Back in the living room, I kissed Baby Jay’s head and told him I’d see him tomorrow after school.

“Love you, Dad.”

“I love you too, champ. Aye, somebody gotta come out here and sit wit’ him,” I instructed.

“We got him,” Vanessa assured, coming out of the kitchen with a glass of milk and a sandwich.

“Is that…”

“Oat milk? Yes, it is,” she replied before I could finish. “I know how to take care of my grandson.”

“’Preciate that.”

“I thought you had somewhere to be?” India questioned, making her way back out front.

“I do. Y’all enjoy y’all night.”

“Whateva.”

Shaking my head, I chuckled and left the apartment.

Me and India never needed much of a reason to fuck, nor was convincing ever necessary. And with neither one of us ever demanding more outside of it, I had no reason to stop.

Until now.
