Why is she here? I’ve never invited Elena to come to where I work. For her own safety and also, I just figured she would never want to come to a club. She’s not exactly the club going kind of person.

I surge to my feet.

“Where are you going?” Gleb grumbles, still upset over that woman rejecting him.

I don’t give Gleb a response as I hurry down to the main floor and push my way through the crowd. Once people see who I am, they give me a wide berth.

I storm right up to Elena and the man who’s currently trying to grip her ass and I shove him back. Elena gasps and turns to face me, looking like a deer caught in headlights.

“Don’t touch my fucking wife,” I growl at the man and take Elena’s hand, tugging her along. She follows without complaint.

I take her back upstairs to my private booth and have her sit down. “Gleb, leave,” I snarl at him while never taking my eyes off Elena.

Gleb grumbles but does as I say.

“What are you doing here?” I snap, which only makes Elena flinch. A part of me wants to apologize but I’m too angry right now. That fucker had his hands all over her. I should kill him.

“I… I just came. I wanted to see you.” She sounds so pathetic and scared and it only makes me feel like an asshole.

“You came here to see me? How did you even find out about this place?”

“Alisa. She told me you’d be here. That you and her husband meet up. I saw you talking to that woman. Flirting with her. She told me that you’ve flirted with other women since we’ve been married. Have you slept with them too?”

The venom in Elena’s voice startles me. It’s rare for her to sound like this.

“Are you jealous?” I ask.

“Answer my question.”

“No. I haven’t slept with anyone since we’ve been married.”

She looks into my eyes and slowly nods. “You mean that?”

“I do.”

“But I saw that woman on your lap. You were smiling at her with that smile of yours.”

“What smile is that?” I ask, unable to stop myself from smirking.

Elena motions towards my face. “That smile you do. That… charming one.”

“I have a charming smile?” I sit down beside her and place my hand on her knee. Her eyes flick right down to it. “You think I have a charming smile, Elena?”

“You know you do,” she mutters, turning her head away.

I gently grab her chin and make her look at me. “I haven’t slept with anyone since we’ve been married. That’s the truth. But yes, sometimes I’ll flirt with other women. Just to be nice. But I have no intentions of being with them. I only want you.”

“I’m worried how long that will last for. You might get bored of me.”

“I haven’t gotten bored yet.”

“Are you the kind of man who gets bored easily?”

“Yes,” I admit.

She gives me a pointed look. “I’m just a girl who likes to write poems and study. I’m not more interesting than any other woman. You’re going to get bored.”

“And you’re worried I’ll cheat on you.”
