Beau’s fingers splayed across his ass and Dax winced, bracing himself, but nothing happened. Well, not really nothing, but not what he was expecting to happen. Instead of spanking him, Beau parted his tender cheeks and pressed against his tight back hole, pushing the tip of his finger in.

It was a move that always made Dax feel submissive and mushy, and ready to talk.

This time was no different. “I’m sorry about the tattoo. I thought it would be funny and sexy, but now I realize it was presumptuous and forced your hand.”

Beau pushed his digit deeper into Dax’s anus. “Forced my hand, how?” Dax could hear Beau’s frown even if he couldn’t see it.

“Just like… a tattoo is permanent, and I know we are solid, but that’s not quite the same thing is it?”

“You’re saying… oh. Listen very carefully, babyboy. Being mad about the tattoos because it somehow forced me into something permanent never crossed my mind. That’s not a thing. Dax, you’ve been in my life for ages. We are best friends, business partners, and now Daddy and boy, as well as co-Daddies to Tessa. In my mind, that’s about as permanent as it gets. But, with both you and Tessa, I’m starting to see that I can’t just take my feelings for granted. I need to say them out loud and make them clear and make sure you feel the same way.”

“I do! I do!” Dax cried as Beau’s finger pumped in and out of his bottom.

“Well, I’m really glad to hear it, but we still need to talk about the other.”

Dax groaned, his shoulders tensing. He really didn’t think he could take another spanking right now. “About me being in trouble for not acting like a Daddy.”

“Well, that too, eventually. But no. Before we can talk to Tessa, we need to figure out why you weren’t acting like a Daddy and what we can do to fix it in the future so everyone is happy and getting what they need.”

“Oh that.” Dax folded his arms under his head and buried his face in them. “It’s stupid.”

“I assure you, babyboy, nothing you ever say to me could be stupid.”

“You’d be surprised how untrue that is,” Dax grumbled, his face flaming. He remembered very clearly what had set him off, and he wasn’t about to admit it out loud.

Beau must have sensed his hesitation. It was rewarded by two sharp, stinging smacks to his very tender buttocks. “Ouch! Hey!” He raised his head to glare over his shoulder.

“Start talking or there will be more where that came from.”

Pouting, Dax still said nothing.

“Don’t you want to go get Tessa so we can fix that situation too? Wasn’t that you just a few short minutes ago?”

Dax emitted a short sigh as he pictured Tessa curled in her bed, crying because she thought they didn’t really want her. His gut twisted, clenching with guilt.

“You didn’t tell me to be good when you left!” he cried, feeling like a pathetic loser as he said it. “You always do, but when you left that morning, you only said it to Tessa.”

“Ahh.” Beau’s finger inside Dax’s ass went still.

“I told you it was lame. It’s pathetic and stupid. I don’t know how—”

“It’s not pathetic or stupid. It’s interesting. Tessa is different than any other girl we’ve shared. It’s the first time we have had a submissive or a Little and also had a dynamic between us. I’m used to treating you as my equal in that regard. And in a lot of ways, I still need to. That’s important. But I need to remember also that some very important things have changed and we need to make sure what we have between us stays strong and doesn’t fall to the wayside. Tessa needs that from us, too.”

Dax huffed. Beau understood the problem and he was saying all the right things, but he wasn’t offering a solution. Dax wasn’t sure there was one. He knew in his head he should be able to have it all—he even knew that many boys like him who were also Daddies were in similar dynamics existed and made it work every single day. Why couldn’t he? What was wrong with him?

Another sharp smack across his tender ass shook him from his reverie.

“Ow! What the heck?”

“I see you getting in your head,” Beau growled, “and thinking not nice things about yourself. And it’s not okay with me. Knock it off.”

“Then fix it! Tell me how to fix it!”

“I’m trying. Geez. Just give me a second to think okay?”

Dax waited, thinking he’d be waiting for forever for Beau to find a solution for the impossible situation he’d put them in.

Finally Beau started to speak but before he could get a full word out, his phone rang on the nightstand.
