I let out a resigned sigh. “He’s average height.”

Theo’s mouth curved into a smile. “And does he have a name?”

I rolled my eyes. “Fine. His name is Quinn.” I glanced at the others. “Did you all get that?

Julian grinned. “Now I’m taking notes.” More chuckles.

Theo gave me a smug look. “And what does Quinn do when he’s not making you forget how to sing?”

I narrowed my gaze. “He doesn’t make me forget anything.” Theo waited, and I let out another sigh. “He works in a library.”

“A librarian,” Finnley murmured approvingly. When the others gave him quizzical glances, he stared back at them. “What? Librarians can be hot too.”

“Name one,” Sebastian said with a snort.

Finnley didn’t even hesitate. “Evelyn Carnahan.”

Sebastian blinked. “Who?”

“From The Mummy,” Finnley said in a scandalised voice. “Rachel Weisz? Glasses? Cardigan? Accidentally sets off ancient curses? We’re talking iconic.”

Julian nodded. “Okay, that’s valid.”

Elliott leaned back in his chair. “She did awaken something in an entire generation.”

Sebastian frowned. “She wasn’t technically—”

“She worked in a library,” Finnley cut in. “She wore tweed. She climbed ladders. That counts.”

Theo appeared faintly amused. “Anyone less historically catastrophic?”

Milo folded his arms. “Rupert Giles.”

There was a pause.

“From Buffy?” Zane said.

“Yes.”

“Watchers aren’t librarians,” Sebastian protested.

“They shelve knowledge and dispense it selectively,” Milo replied calmly. “Close enough.”

Finnley pointed triumphantly, his expression gleeful. “See? Librarians are hot.”

Julian grinned. “It’s the quiet competence. The glasses. The repressed intensity.”

Theo looked back at me, smug again. “So. Quinn. Glasses?”

“He doesn’t wear them,” I said before I could stop myself.

There was a collective inhale.

“Oh,” Elliott murmured. “You noticed.” His eyes twinkled.

I resisted the urge to close mine.

“He alphabetises,” Finnley added helpfully.
