“What time is it?”
Luna picked up her phone.
Her eyes widened.
“Ten forty-three.”
I looked at my watch as if her phone might be lying.
It wasn’t.
“Damn.”
She laughed. “You’ve been sitting in my business for almost two hours. Don’t you have one of your own?”
“Apparently.”
“Could’ve fooled me. You came with a whole presentation.”
“It wasn’t a presentation.”
“You had bullet points.”
“That’s called being prepared.”
“That’s called a presentation.”
I slid my laptop into my bag.
“I’ll come back Wednesday and get the rest of the photos.”
Luna reached for her phone. “What time?”
“Eight?”
She checked her calendar.
“Eight works.”
“All right.”
“And don’t be early.”
I laughed as I zipped my bag. “I’ll try.”
Naomi looked over from the café.
“You’re leaving?”
“Apparently I have a business.”
“That’s unfortunate. I was starting to like you.”
“I told you not to tell her,” Luna said.
“I wasn’t talking to you.”
I stood and pushed the chair beneath the table.
