“It’s over now,” he declared with a long kiss.

“I love you, Caine.”

“Even when I spank you?”

“Especially when you spank me.”

He put out his arm for me to take. “Let’s get going so I can show you off to everyone as my woman,” Caine said with pride.

I wrapped my arm in his and said, “Let’s get going so I can show you off as my man.”

We walked into the party holding hands. It felt slightly odd to be arriving at a party and walking into Coley’s house as a couple. I had obviously been to many parties and gatherings Caine was at, but never as his girlfriend. Since this was a birthday party for Matt, there would be a lot of Caine and Matt’s friends in the room I didn’t know. And for some reason, knowing they too believed in spanking made me anxious. I was happy to see Coley walking toward us.

“Hey you two, I swear I’ll never get used to seeing the two of you as a duo,” Coley said as she gave me a hug.

“Hey sis, is Matt here yet?” Caine asked as he gave his sister a kiss on the cheek.

“No, not yet, but a lot of your friends are. Will you go make them feel comfortable, please? Offer them some drinks and stuff. I tried my best, but I still think they see me as your kid sister,” Coley said as she started to push him away.

Caine leaned in to give me a kiss. “I’ll be back in a minute, okay?”

I nodded and smiled. “I’ll be fine. Go make your friends feel welcome.”

Coley put her arm around me and started to guide me to the kitchen. “Come on, let’s get you a drink.”

Coley had outdone herself with the party. The appetizers looked amazing, and she had a table of wines and champagnes. Light music played in the background, setting a relaxed tone. The outdoor patio had white lights strung around the posts and the wooden awning. Flowers in ceramic pots were placed everywhere. Her entire house had a very worldly and bohemian feel.

Just as Coley and I were getting a glass of wine, Kendall and Rebecca came through the door. They instantly spotted us and rushed over.

Kendall was the first to talk. “Details, details, Neely!”

“You’ve been holding back on us I see,” Rebecca said with a smirk.

I blushed and wasn’t sure what to say. What could I tell my closest friends? I would be lying if I said it didn’t embarrass me to have to use the ‘S’ word around them. But I also was giddy over the fact that I was head over heels in love.

“Well…Caine and I are in love,” I answered.

Rebecca clapped her hands together over her heart and nearly squealed. “I am so happy for you two! It’s like a love story.”

Coley poured two glasses of wine and handed them to Rebecca and Kendall. She looked at me and smiled proudly. “I couldn’t be happier. Just think, you may be my sister someday.”

I scanned the crowd and made eye contact with Caine from across the crowded living room. He beamed proudly at me and then returned to the conversation he was having. Seeing him from across the room, and knowing he was mine, made me happier than I could have imagined. He looked up from his conversation to look my way again. He studied me a moment assessing if I was all right and gave me a wink and a large smile. I was absolutely giddy.

I looked back at my friends. “I really hope so. I could marry him tonight. I swear I have never been so happy,” I gushed.

“Enough of the sappy shit, tell us the juicy, sexy stuff,” Kendall blurted as she emptied her first glass of wine and was pouring herself another.

Coley gasped and covered her ears with her hands. “Oh, God, no, this is my brother remember!”

I laughed before answering. “It’s perfect. He’s perfect. I couldn’t be happier,” I said, sounding like a love-struck schoolgirl.

Before Kendall could ask for more information, we were distracted by Matt entering the room. Everyone started to wish him happy birthday. He politely thanked people and eventually made his way to where we were all standing.

“Thanks, Coley, for throwing this party for me. You really shouldn’t have,” Matt said sincerely.

Kendall moved closer to Matt. “Happy Birthday, Matt,” she said in a sweet, demure voice.

Her behavior was not lost on her friends. We knew Kendall well enough to see she had a huge crush on Matt. And from what I could tell, it seemed Matt had a crush on her, too.

Matt nodded at Kendall. “Thanks.” He turned to me and said, “Congrats on hooking up with Caine. You two seem right for each other.”

I blushed at the compliment. “Thank you.” I wasn’t sure what else to say. I was glad I had at least one of Caine’s friends on my side.
