“You fucking bitch!” Sara screamed, causing all eyes to turn in the direction of the attack.

Sara charged at Neely, grabbing a chunk of her hair and ramming her head against the wall. She continued her assault by attempting to hit and punch Neely’s face. Neely did the best she could blocking the thrashing onslaught of Sara.

Coley took a split second to figure out what was happening at her party, before she surged in the direction to protect her best friend. Fire burned within her. She had never felt the desire to kill like she did at that very moment. Watching the attack on Neely brought out a rage that she was desperate to unleash on that crazy bitch, Sara. Screw her normal peace and love mantra. This bitch was going down.

“Get your fucking hands off her!” Caine roared. Coley watched her brother tug Neely from the onslaught into his protection.

Coley continued to pass through the crowd of observers to kick Sara’s ass when she unexpectedly felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her, preventing her from continuing on. She swung her head around to find Caine’s long time friend, Vance, restricting her movements.

“Calm down, Coley,” Vance evenly directed.

Coley tried to pull away and suddenly realized she had no chance fighting against the strength of Vance’s grip. His arms pulled her against his chest as his breath brushed lightly along her ear.

“Coley, I said calm down. Your brother has it under control.” His voice, barely above a whisper, yet sounded so powerful all the same.

Coley watched how her brother, Caine, held Neely in his arms with pure fury in his eyes. People were shouting and chaos was taking place in her own living room. Her party had taken a horrible turn.

“Get her the fuck out of here! Travis, get your bitch out of here this instant!” Caine shouted with venom in his voice.

“What the hell is she doing here? I didn’t invite that fucking lunatic!” Coley screamed as she once again tried to lunge her body toward Sara.

Vance tightened his grip on Coley. “Coley, God damn it! I said to calm down. I am not going to ask again.”

The tone in Vance’s voice sent a quiver through Coley’s body. She instantly stopped her resistance against his hold and turned her face so she could look into his eyes. His hazel eyes were stern, yet softened once their gaze connected. She was so close to his face she could feel his warm breath against hers. She could smell him, feel him, and suddenly she didn’t want to escape his embrace any longer. With shouting all around, and bodies crowding in to see the commotion, Coley could only focus on the man who looked down into her eyes. She could hear name calling and yelling, but all she could concentrate on was the way Vance held her.

“Coley, this is not your fight. I want you to take a deep breath and relax,” Vance softly ordered.

As if on cue to accentuate his command, a loud slap of a spank and then a second one pulled Coley from the trance she had just been locked in.

Coley turned to see that Sara’s boyfriend, Travis, had just given her warning swats on her behind before briskly storming out the door, pulling Sara behind.

Seeing a spanking was not something that typically happened in public, even with this group of people she hung out with. Coley had long accepted that her brother and his group of friends believed in the practice of Domestic Discipline. They believed that the man was the leader in a relationship and always called the shots. There was a clear role of the woman and a clear role of the man. They believed in spanking, discipline and in enforcing the dynamic. The belief was very old-fashioned, very traditional, and in today’s age– very taboo.

These men were alpha, dominant, strong, opinionated, stubborn and damn sexy. They also doted on their women and would protect them with everything in them. They loved with all their hearts and gave their whole being to the lucky lady they called their own. They believed in romance and the dying notion of chivalry.

Coley grew up seeing the power of their love, the power of their beliefs. Domestic Discipline was not a foreign concept to Coley. Her brother had been a long time believer and had surrounded her with people of the same belief. Vance happened to be one of them. Although Coley accepted, understood and even respected Domestic Discipline, she had never engaged in a DD relationship, and wasn’t sure if she ever would. She believed in the idea and even defended it on occasion. But she wasn’t sure if she would ever be able to truly submit to a man like she would be required to do. She was strong willed, adversarial and not nearly as soft as most women who practiced it. Yet, when Vance used even the slightest bit of authority, Coley’s legs went weak.
