She was probably dressed up like this because she had a date after work. A woman like her wouldn’t be single. Men had to be flocking toward her to get some of that ass.

“Hot date after work?” I asked her.

She glanced at me. “Excuse me?”

“Do you have a date after work?”

She blinked at me before she shook her head. When she looked down, I could have sworn she rolled her eyes. I had never asked her about her personal life before. She was obviously irritated by it. I had to admit, even a bad mood looked sexy on her.

I could have stared at her all day. Instead, I cleared my throat and talked business because that was what we were here for.

“What do you need me to do?” Rena asked after she had studied the file for a while.

Get on your knees and open your mouth, I thought. God, my mind was in the gutter.

“I need James on the line as soon as possible.” I wanted to be alone with her. “We need to talk about this.” She was my secretary. Thinking about her like this was wrong. “Call a meeting with Hank and Charlie for today if you can. What do you think?”

I needed her to say something that would distract me from the direction my mind was headed. I didn’t know what she was dressed up for, but it was driving me mad.

“I think Hank and Charlie will be able to meet today. The product needs revision.”

I nodded. “Should we keep sending out beta products to our testers? Is it making a difference?”

“I wasn’t supposed to ask her these questions. Rena was only my secretary. But she had a business degree, and her input was valuable. Besides, I needed her to keep talking about work. I watched her mouth as she spoke and couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like wrapped around my dick.

I glanced in the direction of the window, trying to clear my thoughts.

“Thank you, Rena,” I finally said. “Will you get Talon on the line for me?”

Rena nodded and left my office, and I could finally think straight again. What the hell had gotten into her today? What the hell had gotten into me?

I glanced at the time and left my office to find Joe. He was my business partner, and we worked well together. He joked and teased a lot, and he saw the funny side of life which balanced out my seriousness. It was why our working relationship worked despite our ten-year age difference.

When I walked into the office, Joe was on a call, wearing a headset that he must have stolen from the customer call center. He had his feet up on his desk, and he was throwing a red ball to the opposite wall and catching it again.

“I’ll call you back. The boss is here,” he said and hung up.

“We’re both bosses,” I said.

Joe chuckled. “Yeah, but it’s easier to get out of the conversation when I pretend I’m actually scared of you.”

I laughed and sat down. “You’re full of shit.”

“But valuable. Valuable shit. What’s up?”

I handed him the file with the numbers, and he flicked through it, frowning.

“What are we going to do about it?” I asked.

“We need to talk to Talon.”

I nodded. “I’m seeing him later.”

Joe looked at the file again. “Maybe this is just a bad run. We always have good results. To fuck up once in a while is fine.”

“Not to me,” I said. “Rena offered some ideas on how to help.”

Joe nodded, putting down the file. “She knows what she’s talking about.”

“Speaking of Rena,” I began. “Do you know if she’s seeing someone?”

Joe frowned. “That’s a weird thing to ask. Why?”

“Because she’s dressed very seductively today, and she’s making my dick itch.”

Joe laughed. “I think that’s the point.”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

Joe leaned back in his chair. “You can’t tell me you haven’t noticed.”

“Haven’t noticed what?” I had no idea what Joe was talking about, and the way he laughed at me made me feel like I was missing something. And that pissed me off. I hated looking like an idiot.

“Rena has the hots for you.”

I shook my head. “That’s bullshit. She has to be twenty years younger than I am.”
