He took the card. He had long, thick black fingers.

"Yeah, you got the right address," he said. "Look, I don't need no trouble. Just go and get lost, okay?"

I began to back up. Why had the agency sent me here?

"It's just..." I stammered.

The man rolled his eyes.

"About my virginity, you know," I stuttered.

I could feel the heat rushing to my face. I knew for sure it had turned a deep shade of red.

I couldn't look at him at all then. But with just a glance, I could tell that his jaw had dropped open at my words.

"Your virginity? What the fuck are you talking about?"

"Didn't the agency contact you?"

He let out a sigh. He opened the door farther.

The house looked barely furnished. It wasn't exactly dirty, but it wasn't entirely clean either.

"Oh, I see, now. You're here about your virginity. Well, that explains everything," he said with complete sarcasm.

He was mocking me. But he was now interested.

He continued, "I guess you did come to the right house after all. Come on in. We'll talk about your virginity."

Shit! None of this made any sense.

I decided I needed to go. I didn't know what was going on, and I didn't want to know anymore.

"I think I should go," I said looking down. "This was a mistake."

The man shook his head in disgust.

"Fucking cunt coward," he said.

He'd growled his words out in that deep voice of his.

"Excuse me?" I said.

I tried to look directly at him. But failed.

"Who the fuck you think you are? Huh?" He said. "You fucking white chicks are a dime a dozen. Who even told you about me, huh?"

"I..." I stuttered.

"Yeah, I got it, the agency. Like what the fuck is that?" He said. "Either way, I know exactly what you want. I know exactly what you need. But you know what?"

I shook my head.

"You're so fucking hung up on your prejudice that you ain't never gonna find out what it is," he said.

"I'm not prejudiced," I insisted.

But I still couldn't meet his eyes.
