"Ain't there some kind of gambling you can do with ten dollars?" I asked.
"There's the slots," he said.
"Well, okay, let's try them then!" I said.
Daddy looked around. He just started going to the nearest casino. Shit. They were everywhere.
We went in and he got change. The place was as noisy as hell. All kinds of flashing lights and beeping noises.
"Okay, you wait here." He said.
"I ain't waiting." I said.
"Fuck you aren't. You'll jinx it if you stand by me." He said.
"Excuse me."
"You'll jinx it," he said.
Could he have been more of an asshole?
"What are you gonna play?" I asked.
"Dollar machines. They pay out better." He said.
Then he left me to go play. I kept my distance from the asshole. Just like he'd wanted.
Then I watched as he lost the first dollar. And then the next. And before I knew it he was down to his last dollar.
That was it. I strode right over to him.
"What the fuck you doing here? I thought I told you to wait." He said.
"Yeah, like I'm gonna bring you any less luck than you already got! Truth is, you ain't got no luck at all!"
"So you gonna bring me some luck? Is that it?" He said.
And you know what I did? I got real naughty then. Fuck it, I thought, we're in Vegas.
I leaned into Daddy. My breasts brushed right up against him. Then I picked up that last coin he had. I brought it to my lips. I slowly kissed it.
Then, I let my fingers slide right over my Daddy's hand.
"Try it now," I said.
As cold as Daddy could be, he blinked at me for a moment. Then he turned back to the machine. He had this look of intense concentration.
He pulled the lever. Then he waited. And he waited.
He hit the first button. A Cherry!
He waited, then he hit the second button. Another Cherry!
I started getting excited. Four Cherries and we'd have a real jackpot on our hands.
Daddy hit the third button. Damn if it wasn't another Cherry!
All we needed now was one more. I moved in front of Daddy.
