“You’ve been going through it quicker than normal. You got a new route?”

He lights his cigarette and exhales. “Always, bro. Got some kids who sell at the college. Those rich motherfuckers suck this shit up like candy. Will pay anything for it too.”

I pull back and take a drink of my beer, trying to keep my mouth shut. Really, really trying, but sometimes—“You’re supplying cocaine to college kids?”

Logan shows his displeasure by digging his fingers into my thigh.

“Hellz yeah. Why? You want in? I could use a hot delivery girl.”

“She’s busy,” Logan growls.

Spider starts rambling about nonsense, and I lay back against Logan’s shoulder, trying to behave. But the fact that this guy is dealing drugs to college kids is so messed up. Logan is just as wrong for supplying it. I don’t know how much time passes, but I can’t take it any longer.

“Baby, I’m ready to go.”

“Awww, man! Stay! We have some friends coming over. Bringing some heavier shit. You ever get a tattoo on ecstasy? Fuckin wild. I’ll mark you up. Anything you want.”

Logan pats me on my butt, and I climb off him. He stands. “We’re good. Thanks for the beer. Next week?”

Spider stands and hands Logan a similar duffel bag full of cash. “No doubt.”

We see ourselves out, and I bite my tongue until we get into the car and are pulling back onto the street. “You’re seriously okay with them selling that to college students? They’re practically kids.”

“It’s not my business who they sell to.”

“It should be! This is what’s wrong with the world. Kids leaving the nests of their parents to get caught up in partying and drugs. Can you imagine being a parent and getting a call one day that your child overdosed? Do you even know how often that happens?”

He doesn’t acknowledge me. “Hello! Don’t you have anything to say?”

“I told you. Not my problem.”

“Ugh!” I toss my hands in the air. How can he be so careless about the damage he causes? “Great, so you don’t care that those drugs you just gave him are going to end up killing people?”

“Not my problem.”

We pull back up to his house, and he shuts off the engine and gets out. I run out after him. “That’s disgusting that you think that way.” I slam the door behind me. “God, what don’t you turn your back on? You should be ashamed of yourself. Drugs? Trafficking—”

He whips around and pushes me up against the doorframe. “I swear to God, do you ever stop fucking talking?” Fury bleeds off him. But it’s not all anger. There’s something else hiding behind his steely gaze. An infusion of anger and desire. It flickers and sparks to life, exposing this unstoppable force pulling us together. Binding us, no matter how hard we both try to deny it.

“Not when I see something that’s wrong and should be stopped,” I reply, my voice shaky. His gaze dips, and that spark ignites, sending a blast of relentless passion through us both. Neither of us stands a chance. That barrier of denial snaps and his mouth becomes demanding as his lips slam against mine.

“You’re seriously becoming a huge pain in my ass,” he growls, stealing my breath in a heated kiss. His tongue demands more access, and he breaches the barrier of my lips.

“And you’re stubborn and grumpy,” I moan against his mouth.

His hands cup my butt, and he lifts me up, my legs wrapping around his waist. “You’re so damn nosy and don’t know how to keep fucking quiet.”

I capture his neck tightly in my grip. “Someone needs to speak up.”

He bites down on my bottom lip, expelling a breathless gasp from me. “I need you to stop talking.”

“I won’t,” I respond, intoxicated by his mouth.

“Didn’t think you would.” He doesn’t have to work hard to get me to shut up. He’s wild, kissing and nipping at my lips. His hands dig into my butt cheeks, and he grinds up against me, sending a burst of erotic sensations throughout my body. I work my hands up his chest until they disappear into his hair and tug hard, showing him no matter how amazing this feels, he won’t deter me. Then he grinds into me again, and I forget what we’re even arguing about.

He hisses as he slides his lips to my chin, my neck, my collarbone. I sigh breathlessly, resting my head against the doorframe, offering him full access.

Then I’m suddenly no longer pressed against the door. I inhale sharply as he pulls us away and storms down the hallway. I’m about to ask what he’s doing when he throws me onto his bed. I quickly sit up on my elbows. “What, did you see someone?”

His eyes darken, and he takes his shirt off, tossing it over his head. “This shit between us? I’m done playin’. Unless I’m reading you wrong, it’s about to play out for real this time.” He’s on me once again, claiming my lips like he owns them. We’re both manic, tearing at each other’s clothes. My tank top is up and over my head. My jeans are ripped down while I frantically work at his zipper. Before my brain starts to work and tell me this is a bad idea, I spread myself wide for him. His gaze darkens, and he thrusts inside me.
