Eventually, I was able to get inside the awaiting vehicle and Quay was already sitting inside on the phone, and I could tell that he was annoyed as well. “He just got in the car, man. We’re pulling out right now as we speak. We’ll be there within the next forty-five minutes,” he said and then ended the call.

“Who was that?” I asked. I could tell that the person on the other side of the phone was yelling and it was pissing Quay off.

“That was the manager of the club that you’re supposed to perform at. He calls me fussing because the fee to get inside the club tonight was brought up because of your performance. So, he said that now he has a club full of pissed off motha fuckas because they think that your ass isn’t going to show up and people are demanding a refund. I don’t like Vegas, man. I swear, every time we come up here it’s some shit,” Quay fussed and I agreed with him.

The first time we came up here, my damn luggage had gotten stolen at the airport and I had well over $50,000 in one of those damn suitcases. The second time was when I was supposed to make an appearance at one of the malls and the cops shut that shit down because he said that it was causing too much attention.

“You talk to my sister, man?” I asked Quay, changing the subject.

Normally, I was the type of nigga to mind my own business, but when it came to my little sister, there was just certain shit that I had to speak up on. Plus, I overheard her and Charlie on the phone the other day. Monae was telling Charlie how she fought some bitch that she saw Quay with and that she saw a pregnancy test laying on the ground of the parking lot, or some shit like that. I just so happened to walk into the room and Charlie had the phone on speaker, but as soon as I came in, she told Monae that she was going to call her back. I know I’m the pot calling the kettle black right now, but I hoped Quay didn’t go out and do no dumb shit like that on my sister because Monae would be devastated behind some shit liked that.

“No, I haven’t talked to your crazy ass sister, but I do plan on having a talk with her when we get back,” he said.

I nodded my head. I needed to ask him something, so I looked down at Charlie and she was knocked out, with her head on my chest. My baby was tired and didn’t feel good, and I kind of regretted bringing her out while she was feeling this way.

“You ain’t go get another bitch pregnant did you?” I asked him just below a whisper because even though Charlie was asleep, I didn’t want to risk it.

“Nah, man, we handled that. I went back over there with old girl and had her take two more test and it’s been confirmed. After that, she scheduled an appointment with the doctors and the test came back negative,” he said.

Now, if only God could come through for me and this baby that Chantel was carrying wasn’t mine.

“Who was the bitch you was fuckin’ anyway?” I asked him because I had to know. Quay didn’t really go around fuckin’ random bitches like Dre and me, so I was dying to know.

“Paris,” he said, texting away on his phone.

Paris. Man, why that name sound so familiar? I thought, playing around with the name in my head for a few seconds until it came to me. “Ohh shit, big booty Paris from back in the day? I thought her ass had moved to Atlanta or some shit like that,” I said to him, remembering that he and Paris used to be fuck buddies back in the day.

“She did, but she moved back,” he said.

I just nodded my head. He was a grown man and I didn’t think that I had to tell him not to fuck around on my sister. He was either going to be with her or he wasn’t. He wasn’t about to fuck my sister while he was fuckin’ Paris too because the way my overprotective ass was over my sister, I may end up killing his ass if I find out from Monae that he was fucking around on her.

Finally, we pulled up to Diamond’s Cabaret strip club on Highland Drive. I looked out and saw that the line was wrapped around the building and smiled to myself because I knew all this people were here to see me.

“Charlie, get up baby. We’re here,” I said and nudged her.

She whined for a second, sounding like our daughter, whenever I would wake her little butt up for school. She wiped her face and I kissed her forehead as the driver came around to open the door for us.

We walked the red carpet, looking like royalty as I held onto Charlie’s hand. Paparazzi and fans loved when I brought Charlie out me with me because everybody swore that we were the “it” couple, well at least when I wasn’t caught fuckin’ around on her in the tabloids.

“Charlie and Quan!”

“Oh my God, you guys are so cute together.”

“Quan, can I have your autograph?”

Fans were yelling out all type of shit, but we were already late and I had a performance that I needed to handle. We walked into the club and security escorted us to our section. There were bottles and finger food already waiting for us. I helped Charlie up the stairs and let her sit down on the couch.

“I’m about to go backstage and get ready to perform. I promise we’ll leave right after. Quay is going to stay over here with you to keep you company. I should have flown Monae and Toya out with us, baby, but I will the next time,” I said. I kissed her lips and headed back down the stairs.

“I heard somebody in the crowd say that Quan was a sellout and that he wasn’t gone show up?” the D.J yelled into the mic and the whole crowd started yelling.

“And then I heard somebody say that that nigga wasn’t going to leave the 305 to come party with us,” the D.J said and the crowd started screaming again.

“Ay Quan, come to the stage right quick, homie, and prove to these niggas that you done left the 305 to party with us,” the D.J said.

I stepped out on the stage and the crowd went crazy.

“Damn, y’all niggas don’t have faith in your boy? 305 is my city, but when I heard that they wanted me to do a performance in Vegas, I jumped on the next thing smoking,” I said to my fans.
