“We should be there sometime tomorrow night. We got a performance to do tonight at Magic City,” he said.

He was in Atlanta, and I hoped his ass wasn’t going to be up there showing off because I would be on the next thing smoking, pregnant and all.

“Okay, baby. Who all went up there with you?” I asked him, wanting to be sneaky and see if Dre was there as well. That way, Toya could at least have an idea where his ass was, since he wasn’t responding to her.

“I got Quay and Dre down here, and the crew. Whatever this shit is that Dre and T got going on, I hope they fix it because his ass been one moody ass nigga since yesterday,” Quan said.

I laughed. “That’s because he misses my girl.”

“Oh yeah, I already know that without a doubt. Alright, lil mama, I’m going to let you go now because we about to hit up Phipps right quick to find something to wear for tonight. I’ll call you back tonigh

t before I go to sleep,” he said.

“You know that won’t be until the wee hours of the morning, so just shoot me a text or something,” I said.

His ass would call me at three and four in the morning, and I hated that shit because once I was up, I couldn’t go back to sleep.

“Yeah, whatever, I’m still calling. I love you and feed my baby,” he said.

“I love you more,” and with that, I hung up the phone.

When we finished ordering, the waitress came and took our drink orders. I ordered for myself a raspberry lemonade and Toya got a water. I looked up and saw Monae walking into the restaurant. She walked quickly over to us and sat in the booth next to Toya, then wrapped her arms around her and planted kisses on her cheek. I laughed because Monae was so extra.

“How you feeling, sissy? I’m sorry that you had to go through that,” she told her.

“I’m good, just in a little bit of pain,” Toya told her.

“And hello to you too, bitch,” I said toMonae and she waved me off, laughing.

“Girl, I talked to your ass already. Y’all ordered yet? Because I’m hungry as fuck,” she said. I looked in her eyes and I could see the redness.

“No, bitch, you fuckin’ high, and you got the munchies. Quan gone kill your ass when he finds out you be smoking,” I told Monae.

“No he not because he not going to find out. I’m stressing, shit! I got damn midterms coming up and shit. One blunt ain’t gone kill my ass. Mommy know I smoke, and she ain’t got a problem with it,” Monae said and I shook my head.

“Yeah, well we both know that Quan thinks he’s your damn daddy. So play big girl if you want to,” I told her.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, where China bad ass at?’ she asked.

“My baby is not bad, she’s just outspoken. And she’s with my mama. I’m going to get her when we leave here.”

We were at Red Lobster for about another hour or so doing some catching up, even though I was just with them earlier in the week. Well, Monae and I were pretty much the only two doing all of the talking because Toya looked to be in her own world. She only played with the soup she ordered, so she ended up taking it home with her.

Every day when I get off work this week, I was going to make it my business to run by Toya’s house to check up on her and bring food. She was showing signs of depression and I didn’t like it. I would be a fool to ignore the signs because something really severe could happen in the end. If Dre was too bullheaded to set his pride aside and be there for Toya, then I was going to step up to the plate and be there for her. I was not going to turn my back on her. I hated when Toya talked about feeling like she had nobody. So, I was going to do everything in my power to help her through this.

Chapter 4: Chantel

Right now, I was in Atlanta with Davion and we were on our way to Magic City. As a club owner, he liked to tour around and visit other clubs to see what they were doing and look for ideas to enhance his club. I’ll admit, this little thing we had going on was going pretty good. I wouldn’t say that we were in a relationship or anything like that, but I think we are pretty much in the early stages of trying to get to know one another. Plus, I kind of felt like he still didn’t fully trust me, which was understandable because the night we met, I was there to rob his ass.

Davion didn’t have me sitting at home on my ass while he worked. In fact, he had given me a job at his club as a bartender. I wanted to complain about it at first, but I sucked it up because I knew for a fact that I needed him. At this point, I had no place else to go.

I was tired of playing that little game with Quan, and I had finally come to grips with letting his ass go. Meaning, three days ago, Davion had taken me to the clinic to get an abortion. I was fuckin’ reckless when I was down in Miami, and it literally wasn’t any telling who could have fathered my baby. Now when I actually sit down and think about the shit, what I was doing was really fucked up. Like, I really drugged a man and stole his sperm, and was going to pin a baby on him. Even when I found out that the weeks I was pregnant didn’t add up, I was still threatening this man’s family with a baby.

Being with Davion has made me an entirely different person and changed my life because I didn’t even think the same anymore. This man was willing to deal with me even after finding out what type of fucked up person I was. He hadn’t even got the pussy yet, so I knew that wasn’t the only reason he was keeping me around. I had pretty much told him everything about my past, but I left out the fact that the man I was pinning the baby on was none other than the famous rapper, Quan. I figured he didn’t need to know all of that.

As far as Tracy goes, I don’t know what he’s been up to because Davion had trashed my phone and given me a new one, and he was the only one with the number. Prior to Davion getting rid of my phone, Tracy had been sending me threatening ass messages, but I knew he was only doing that because he felt like his back was against the wall. He knew for a fact that he couldn’t take his ass back to Miami because as soon as Quan or his boys saw him, they would kill him on sight. If he was still in Naples, then he needed me. Without me, he wasn’t going to be able to make money. Had he not been putting his hands on me and talking to me any type of way, I probably would have felt a little bit bad for just disappearing on his ass.

“We won’t be here long. I just want to get a feel for the club because I’ve never been here before,” Davion said, after he parked the car.
