“Happy birthday princess,” I told her.

My baby wasn’t having it this morning. She started crying and immediately I felt bad for waking her. Otis walked in the room and shook his head.

“Tisha, why the hell you woke her up?” he asked me.

“I had to get her up anyways because I need to change her,” I told Otis.

Eventually Harmony stopped crying and I walked with her downstairs to get her a bottle. Otis was already dressed, so I gave him the baby to get her ready while I finished getting dressed. It was a little cool out, so I threw on my pink sweat suit from Pink with my beige UGGS. I threw my hair in a high pony tail and put on a little bit of lip gloss.

I was in my bathroom making sure I had all of my make up in my make-up kit for the trip when I heard the doorbell ring.

“Baby get the door.” I yelled from upstairs.

When he opened the door, I heard Tamika, Kyla, and Ka’lani. The men were probably still in the car. Since that night at the club for Otis’s birthday, Tamika and Pat had gotten really close. Kyla and Cevon already had history, so hopefully this time they both got their shit together because I loved them together.

I made my way downstairs and my girls were sitting in the living room.

“Y’all told my baby happy birthday?” I asked them.

“Yes we told our niece happy birthday,” Tamika spoke for everybody.

“Lani, where the baby?” I asked her.

“She’s in the car sleep. Ty in there with her,” she told me.

After we made sure the alarm and everything was on in the house, we made our way outside. We took four cars up there, and Otis led the way while everybody else followed. We drove my Range Rover up there. My daughter was in the back knocked out with her thumb in her mouth. I grabbed my blanket from the back and wrapped it around me.

“Tisha I know you not about to go to sleep,” Otis said to me.

It was 6 in the morning, you damn right I was about to go to sleep.

“Yes baby, I’m just gonna take a quick nap,” I said to him.

“Damn baby, you gon’ make daddy stay up and drive all by himself with nobody to talk to?” my baby said.

“Okay baby, so what you got in mind that you want to do on the trip?” I asked him.

“It don’t even matter baby, I just want to enjoy myself,” he said.

I just shook my head and laid the seat back as my man drove. I stayed up with him for the next 30 minutes, and then I eventually took my nap. God knows I’m going to need my rest to prepare for this trip.

Chapter 17: Tamika

Pat and I were in the car on our way to Orlando. I couldn’t believe I was actually in the car with this nigga. When Tisha told us that we were going to Orlando to celebrate Harmony’s birthday, I had no intentions on coming with Pat, but Otis had invited him to come, so we just ended up riding together. I was trying my best to stay away from this man, but he was just too sexy for me to ignore. Ever since the night we went to the club for Otis’s birt

hday and we talked at the club, we have been talking ever since.

Pat wanted me to be his girl so bad but for some reason, I didn’t trust his ass. I been knew Pat and every time that I did see him, he was with a new bitch. The first time at the club, that wasn’t my first time talking to him. He tried to talk to me one day while I was in the gym some time last year, but I just kept it moving. Pat was a thug nigga in every way. He knew Otis because they used to sling dope back in the day with each other. But just like how Otis and Tyrone left that street shit alone, so did Pat. Right now, he owned his own music productions out here in Miami. He had some of the best artists signed to him. I had to admit he was doing well for himself, but did I mention that I still think he is a hoe?

Pat was light-skinned and he had a body that was ripped. He was muscular, but not too much. He had tattoos on his arms and chest. He kept his hair cut and his waves stayed on swim. He reminded me of LL Cool J, just a little bit smaller. Every time I saw him, he was dressed nice and with a different bitch. If his ass wasn’t such a big hoe, damn right I would give him a chance. But see, I wasn’t up for getting my heart broke, so I think it’s safe if we just stay friends.

“Baby, it’s about time you tell your girls about us,” Pat said to me. I don’t know why this nigga consisted on calling me baby like I was his girl or some shit.

“Tell them what Pat?” I asked, playing dumb.

“Meek, it’s time for you to let them know that you’re my woman,” he said.

“And when did we establish this? When did we come to the conclusion that I was your woman and you were my man?” I asked him out of curiosity.
