It’s nearing six thirty, and I know without a doubt that Sasha would make good on her promise and show up at Margie’s at promptly eight o’clock to go to Melanie’s. The last thing I need is for her to show up before I’m there as if she has no idea where I am.

Oh, the tangled web.

And now I have to figure out what to tell Cal.

He fucked me almost frantically when we got upstairs, almost as if I was going to disappear any second. I know last night shook him up, possibly even more than me, and he’s trying to convince himself that I’m okay. That even though he couldn’t prevent it from happening, he could protect me.

“It’s getting late,” I tell him as I reluctantly pull out of his grasp. I slide out of his bed, naked as the day I was born, and from his gaze, I can tell he appreciates what he sees. It’s almost dark, but the last bit of the day’s sun is streaming through the blinds and creating an orange glow on my body, illuminating the several hickeys all over my torso and inner thighs. I slide my panties up my legs, my body aching with every step as I’m reminded of where he’s been.

He looks at the clock behind him. “Late? Baby, it’s six thirty.” He sits up, giving me a glorious view of his torso and I briefly wonder if he’s been working out more since I left. “I was kind of hoping I could convince you to stay.” He winks and stands up allowing his cock to stand proudly between us. My tongue darts out to lick my lips and I feel his hand wrapped around my jaw.

“Was that an invitation?” he asks, and his words send a chill through me. I look up and he shoots me a wink. God, I want his dick in my mouth. Despite the fact that just earlier today, I’d been on my knees in front of him in the shower, I want it again. I would never get tired of doing that to him. The sense of power I felt, despite the fact that I was beneath him, is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Ev

en though I was on my knees, I know I owned him in those moments.

Maybe I could come back later. I roll my eyes inwardly. Fuck, I’ve become one of those women.

That’s the last thought I have before Cal’s lips are on mine and I’m lifted into his arms. “Wait wait, Cal.” I pull back away from his lips that taste like I’m not leaving this room for another hour.

“Wait?” He frowns. “I was preparing to put my mouth on your pussy, and you want me to wait?”

I let out a breath and curse Sasha and Melanie and Melanie’s mom who couldn’t wait another day to bring a baby into the world. “Yes, babe…I have to go.”

He sets me to my feet and crosses his arms. “Go?”

“I’m uhh…” I let out a breath, “hanging out with some friends.” I grab my bra from the floor and slide it on. “It’s Melanie’s birthday and she’s throwing a party. Sasha is meeting me at Margie’s so I should probably be there when she gets there or else I’m fucked.” I look at my watch, watching as the time inches closer to seven.

“Oh?” He sits down and immediately I regret two things for putting that look on his face. First, for agreeing to go at all, and second, for waiting this long to tell him. “Were you not going to tell me?”

“Of course, I was. I just did.”

“You just tried sneaking out of here, Maddie.”

“I was going to wake you up. I wasn’t hiding anything.” I shrug.

“Are you staying the night at this party? I don’t want you driving late at night after what just happened. Are guys going to be there?”

I put my hands on my hips and cock my head to the side. “Who wants to know?”

He furrows his brow and stands up pulling his sweatpants on. “What do you mean ‘who wants to know?’ I want to know.”

“No, is the man that raised me asking? Or the one I’m currently dating?”

He takes a step towards me, invading my personal space. “Don’t test me Madeline Elizabeth.” His nostrils flare and his eyes darken to almost onyx. I can tell he’s gritting his teeth because his jaw is sharp and taut and I resist the urge to touch him.

“Still not exactly clear which Daddy I’m talking to.”

Before I can move out of his reach, I’m up against the wall with his hand inside my panties rubbing the wet bundle of nerves that this small back and forth caused. “You know I worry. You’re not twenty-one, Maddie, and if you’re drinking, I would prefer you stay there, and especially after what just happened. But as the man who’s laid claim over your heart and your pussy—yes, I would like to know if boys will be there as well…” I see the jealousy and more importantly the hurt in his eyes and a flare of pain spikes in my heart.

Every once in a while, Sasha goes to parties without Mike and it drives him insane. Sasha thinks it’s hilarious and taunts him endlessly. She’d never do anything because she loves that guy more than anything, but she enjoys making him jealous.

Doing that to Cal doesn’t sound like fun.

“Fine you can take me and pick me up,” I tell him, trying to appease him, but I know it’s not just about that. “And funny you say that, because it’s a good thing I don’t like boys.” I raise an eyebrow at him. “I like men. One man.” I cup his face. “The love of my life.” I press my lips to his. “You know, I’ve never dated anyone seriously. Yes, here and there, but no one that has ever been worthy of my attention or my heart. I’ve kissed what, like three guys before you, and no one has ever touched me where you’ve touched me. This isn’t the first party I’ve been to where there have been guys and alcohol…so what are you worried about? That I’ll forget about you?”

“No, I just…worry.” He grits out. “About you in those environments in general.”

“Ah, so the parental and boyfriend Cal are ganging up on me, I see.” I pull away from him and grab my shirt, pulling it over my head.
