“Some much-needed rest and relaxation,” Kyle suggested, hoping she’d consider returning to LA with him.

Savannah’s movie was wrapping in the next few weeks and she and Trent would be returning to Las Vegas. That meant Kyle’s stint at Club T’s was over. He had his business interests in LA to return to.

But he wasn’t going anywhere without Melody.

“How did you find our first exercise?” Melody asked as the waitress delivered her salad and Kyle’s steak.

“Are you asking me if I had a hard time thinking up thirty things about you I like?”

In fact, the exercise had been remarkably easy.

“Yes.”

“Not at all. There are hundreds of things about you that I appreciate.”

She scowled at him, but he could tell she liked what he had to say. “Are any of them not sexual?”

“Quite a few. Would you like me to pull out my list and get started?”

“Sure.” She got her own list out of her purse and flattened the folded sheet on the black tabletop beside her plate. “Do you want to start or should I?”

“Ladies first.” He thought a second before adding, “Why don’t we alternate.”

“Let’s see.” Her eyes scanned down her list as if searching for the perfect place to begin.

He shook his head. “From the top. I want to know what your first thoughts of me were.”

Her cheeks grew pink and she squirmed in her seat. “Your eyes. I never know what color they will be from one moment to the next. It’s something about the light or what you’re wearing. And there’s nothing I enjoy more than looking up and catching you watching me from across a room.”

Kyle decided this was an excellent beginning. “Your determination,” he said, taking his turn. “Since you were a teenager, you’ve written music, despite your father’s attempts to dissuade you. Even though it hasn’t been easy to overcome Siggy’s negative attitudes, you chose your path and you’ve been successful.”

His words made her smile. Good. That was what he was going for.

“Your smile,” she said after a quick glance at her sheet. “Sometimes you come home and I can tell your day has been trying. But then you look at me and smile and it’s as if the sun comes out.”

Kyle made a note to smile around her more often. “Your talent. Both your songwriting and your singing. I am constantly impressed by your lyrics and music. Makes me wish I could carry a tune.”

“That’s farther down on my list,” she said excitedly. “Your inability to carry a tune.”

He made a face at her. “Why would someone with perfect pitch find that attractive?”

“Because it means you’re not perfect.” There was such an eager note in her voice.

“I’m the farthest thing from perfect and you know it.”

“Well, but...”

She rolled her lips between her teeth, a sure sign she was thinking hard. Was she struggling for a way to spin his flaws in a positive light? Kyle waited her out. When Dr. Warner had spoken to him about the exercises in this relationship revitalizer, she’d made sure to point out that he needed to listen to what Melody had to say. It was something he hadn’t done after finding out she’d been in New York with Hunter.

“You are handsome, rock a sexy body, have a full head of soft wavy hair, kissable lips, great legs. Don’t get me started on your abs.” Her words tumbled over one another as she rushed on.

As she listed off his physical attributes, he couldn’t help but chuckle. It was nice to know the sexual chemistry was alive and well. He didn’t plan to rely on sex to save their relationship, but maybe their desire for each other would compel them to work through all the tough stuff.

“Your voice on the phone gets me hot and in person...” She shook her head ruefully. “It’s nice that you can’t sing. It makes me feel like I can keep up with you.”

“How many things on your list did you just read off?” he asked.

She scanned her list. “I might’ve gotten a little carried away. But there are lots of other things about you that I appreciate. Your sense of humor. Your business acumen. That you are such a good friend to my brother. I know things would’ve been a lot harder with my dad if Trent hadn’t had you to talk to.”
