Chapter Thirteen - Krystal

As the party began winding down, my heartbeat started going up. The auction had been an abstraction. It was something I could really only imagine, but as the time grew near, it seemed increasingly real, as were the consequences. I started to wonder and then worry about who would buy me. Would he be gentle as he took my virginity? Would it hurt?

Frankly, the idea of letting anyone other than Jayden touch me made my stomach turn, but I tried not to dwell on that. This was for my business. My mind was a muddle of questions and concerns as I ushered a tray of wine samples through the crowd. Everyone seemed very happy to see me, in both senses of the phrase.

“Great costume,” came a comment from my right.

“Thanks,” I said, sounding more confident than I felt.

“Where did you get it?”

“I-I made it.”

I could see the delight light up in his eyes. I wondered if he was some kind of elf fetishist, but then he was handing me his business card.

“Hank Ezra. I own the Kitten Room in San Francisco. We’ve been thinking of going in a themed direction. Servers in cute kitty costumes.”

“I hope they’ll be wearing flats,” I blurted.

“Oh, of course. We’re in the business of food and spirits, not torture.”

With that single sentence, Hank Ezra became one of my favorite people in the world. So few restaurant owners, let alone managers, really understood the mundane horrors of the service industry. I couldn’t help but wonder if he had been a server himself at some point in the past.

“We thought about contracting with a company to do it, but we haven’t exactly been bowled over by their initial concepts for the prices they’ve been charging. I’ll see if I can convince my partners to go with an artisan.”

I wanted to thank him but before I could form the words, he was gone. Looking around me for a moment, I stuck the card down the front of my dress, placing it securely under my corset, and set about my rounds again with a big grin on my face.

My tray emptied pretty quickly and I was back to the wine table to replenish my glasses. Everyone really seemed to like the wine and I could only imagine the orders Jayden was getting. I was really happy about that and not just because it would definitely get me out of my debt to him. They would have lots of money to fix the truck and then some. But more than that, the idea of his success made me happy.

I spotted him talking to someone in a semi-private corner. From what I could tell, the pockets of his Santa coat were stuffed with business cards, giving me a much better idea of how many orders he had gotten. I recognized the guy he was talking to for some reason. It was a few moments before I remembered seeing him earlier that night. Emma let me in on the fact that he was the one who would be the one running the auction. I would have to hurry if I was going to get on the list. Leaving my half-filled tray on the table, I hustled over there, acting much bolder than I really felt.

“You’re Sebastian, right?”

He turned and looked at me, his expression going from annoyed to interested in the blink of an eye.

“Why yes, I am. And who might you be, my dear?”

“Krystal. I wanted to make sure I can still get on the list for the auction.”

He looked me up and down, particularly my tits, as if he was trying to undress me with his eyes.

“It is pretty full, but I might be able to squeeze you in. Give me a turn?”

Bile rising in my throat, I did so, doing a slow 180 to give him a good look at everything I had, that was shown by the sexy costume.

“Very nice.”

It was awful, but I loved the look of fury I caught in Jayden’s eyes. I liked that he was jealous and really wanted him to want me.

“What will you be selling, Krystal? There are lots of options. It could be as simple as a kiss, or even a date. But if you are a bit more adventurous you could always sell - ”

“My virginity,” I said, doing my best not to blush.

That got his attention. I could have sworn I saw Sebastian’s eyes widen as Jayden’s narrowed into a real Clint Eastwood death-stare.

“Are you sure, honey?”

“Yes,” I said with a nod, trying to look more sure than I was.

“You’re the first of the evening, but I suppose that’s fitting isn’t it?”

It was an elf joke but that still didn’t keep me from smiling as a blush came to my cheeks.

“I’ll add you to the top of the list. The top five, anyway. You are going to be the star of the auction, sweetheart. I just need you to fill this out.”
