“Cara Smythe?” Jack asked. “Yeah, she and her men left.”
“What?” My eyes widened. “They… they left?”
Jack brushed my hair back from my face. “They must have thought you were in good hands.”

“You just started a little early,” Jack added. Why did they have to stand so close? “See, sweetheart, I've been looking all over town for you.”
“Oh yeah?” I asked. He'd been looking for me?
Sam stepped back and Jack moved in close, pressing against me. I felt every hard inch of him, just as I had Sam when he first tugged me into the dead-end of the hallway. I had to tilt my head back to meet his eyes. “Yeah. If you want monkey sex, I'm the one for the job.”

I pursed my lips and gave him a glare I hoped would make him retreat.
“Whoa, now that's a look.” Jack stepped back enough so I could take a deep breath.

“Stop calling me that.” I wasn't sure who I was mad at, them or me. It wasn't their fault I'd lost my head and did that with them. I stormed past them, down the hall and back into the main bar area, cut right on by and didn't look at anyone—definitely afraid that they'd know what I'd been up to—and out into the parking lot. The sun was just setting over the mountains and the air was softer. Cooler. It felt good on my heated skin.
“You're afraid,” Jack called from behind me and I startled.
I shook my head and stared at the glorious sunset. All I could think about—ridiculous really—was why it wasn't dark at nine o'clock at night and not the fact that I'd just got it on with two men in the back of a bar. My mind was screaming “run, run” but my pussy was saying “more, more.”

Jack moved to stand next to Sam. Some customers came out of the bar and walked to their car and I stayed quiet until their car doors closed.
