“Hell,” he said with a faint smile that was so warm and genuine, “I could be happy if we were shipwrecked in Alaska as long as we were together. Everything else just makes it that much better.” His eyes dipped lower over her again, his manhood throbbing lewdly before he snapped his gaze back up from her breasts and figure.

She laughed, still pushing her food around on her plate and not looking towards him but for that last moment before he pulled his eyes away. “Don’t be silly,” she said with a grin as she popped some fish between her pink lips. “Alaska’s a horrible place to swim.”

Zach grinned and couldn’t help but laugh at that.

Putting his plate down he pushed himself over next to her, his hand sliding over atop one of hers. “Never heard of the Polar Bear divers?” he asked with a soft lilting humour. “I’d give in and give it a go. At least once,” he remarked cheekily, brushing back his hair and tilting his neck, looking so masculine and handsome. “You’d warm me up after, wouldn’t you sis?” his voice was low and husky, sounding more like he were on a date than talking with his sister.

“Polar Bear divers?” she asked, her brows furrowing and looking at him like he was crazy, “Fuck. I’d try it once. Then you could warm me up. If that flu or whatever couldn’t kill us, I doubt some icy water’s going to do the trick. We’re probably invincible now,” she smiled, her face so near to his as she joked with him.

Smiling at her, Zach was a mix of shy and affectionate, for the same reason on both counts. It was his sister. As wrong as it might be, it felt so natural for him to be at ease with her. He wasn’t the type to keep his thoughts and feelings from her. Ever.

“I think so too,” he retorted. Then, with the most abrupt twist of the subject he said, “I love you, Zahra,” though it didn’t sound like any of the familial ‘I love yous’ they’d shared in the past. This one was heartfelt in a whole other way, and with how he stared at her so dreamily, a twinkle of happiness and adoration in his eyes as he looked over her face. She could undoubtedly see through him as he leaned in slowly, closing that narrow gap between them as if drawn to her by some force beyond his control.

Her lips dropped open, her eyes narrowing in scrutiny as she leaned up, not closing the gap but changing it slightly as she shifted to stare at him. “Duh, Zach,” she murmured, but it was clear she understood. Still, it wasn’t what he expected, not really. It wasn’t the needy embrace he might have hoped for, but neither was it the self-conscious fear and revulsion. It was curiosity and interest.

She put her plate to the side, facing him as she crossed her legs. “Why’re you sayin’ that for?”

Zahra always managed to say the right thing, or the wrong thing when needed, and Zach could not push down his arousal at her, even as the heat rose to his cheeks so obviously. “Because,” he began, brushing back his growing bangs again from his forehead and eyes, “I have a lot of time to think here.” He shrugged, his Adam’s apple bulging as he hesitated, eyes dipping down over her reflexively before he looked back up.

“I’ve never cared for someone like I care for you sis,” he said on a sigh, his voice taking a different tone. He was willing his shyness down, speaking to her like a normal woman, not the one he’d emerged into existence with. “And more and more, I see you as... more,” he laughed softly, looking down, “More than just my sister, I mean,” smiling unevenly at his fumbling of the words.

“God, when’d you get so repetitive,” she teased him, but her face was more serious and introspective. Her lips quirked and she licked over them, tasting the salt and fish. It took her a moment before she stood, dusting the white sand from her tanned bottom and held out her hand for his. “C’mon, you said you wanted to take a walk.”

Perhaps he should have taken that as a rebuttal, but for Zach knowing Zahra, he knew better.

Rising up he took her hand and smiled at her, “Guess it’s just a bit harder for me to broach this subject,” he said as they began to walk barefoot down the white sandy beach. He co

uldn’t help but grip her hand firmly as they passed the green waves that reflected the light so hypnotically in the bright sun.

She was so beautiful, and as he walked beside her he couldn’t help but look down at her so appreciatively. “I feel like we’re more than just brother and sister as is anyhow.”

It was more likely she couldn’t look at him as they spoke, for now that her hand was interlaced with his and she looked straight ahead at the horizon, her voice was clear. “We might be out here for a long time. Maybe always. We could die out here, together, and I’m okay with that,” she started.

“And... come on, you know I love you. Of course I do. And... we’re alone. There isn’t mom and dad judging us, no friends to tell us we’re too close. There isn’t nothin’, Zach, but there’s risks, you know? To... emotional entanglement.”

They were down the beach a ways, its crystal shores so pristine as he pulled her to a stop, turning her around and taking hold of both her hands. He forced her to meet his emerald gaze, not letting her escape him, “There’s nothing I wouldn’t risk for you,” he declared softly but so sincerely. “And there’s nothing I don’t already feel for you,” he stated.

Hesitating, he swallowed and smirked, “They always were worried about us heading this way, weren’t they?” he remarked, staring off for a moment before looking right back to her. “Like you said... all the warnings to make new friends. That’s what it was about, wasn’t it?”

“Probably,” she agreed, though she wouldn’t meet his gaze, instead staring at his chest. It wasn’t much better, but it was almost impossible to see those familiar eyes. “But I mean...” her head tilted and she swallowed, her hand squeezing his, “Fuck. Just... it could be weird.”

Zach pulled her gently closer, their two hard, toned bodies very nearly meeting as he smiled softly. “What risks are you worried about, sis?” he said so softly, “That I’d stop loving you? Stop being your best friend?” He shook his head, his golden hair swaying, “God I love you, Zahra.”

“That we’d be rescued? And we’d have to go back to the world, all salt water drunk and in love...” she trailed off but finally her eyes lifted to his. They were gleaming more in the dipping sun and he could see the tears she was holding back. “That we’ll start to hate each other out here with no one else around? That we’d just use each other ‘til we get back on land.”

That made Zach’s brow crease in sadness, and he pulled his hands from hers, slipping his arms around her. It was a bit awkward at first, pulling her against him, their hard bodies pressed, his manhood still so rigid. “Oh Zahra,” he said softly, and he leaned in kissing cheek and nuzzling against it. “When I said I loved you, and... tried to broach this with you. I didn’t mean as a last resort...” he shook his head and hugged her tight, resting his chin at her neck. “I mean what mom and the others feared came true. All this time together? It made me realize... I love you. Wrong and dirty and in such a filthy way,” he husked into her ear so lowly, “but I love you. And I had for so long.”

Her lace bra pressed against his ribs as her hands wrapped around his back, her nails tracing against his shoulder blades as he embraced her. Their bodies were so warm from absorbing the sun all day, and it just felt so good and so uncomfortable all at once.

“Zach,” she murmured against his chest, and it wasn’t a reprimand or an argument. It was just a soft, whimpered name, filled with love and adoration and hesitation. “What if we’re rescued tomorrow, huh? What would you do?”

He rubbed a hand over her back, up through her long blonde hair to the back of her head as he kissed her shoulder, then her neck. His other palm rested atop her lower back, feeling the edge of her panties, “We’ve got nobody left Zahra, but each other. If we went back... I’d take you somewhere where we could just be us. Where nobody knew us as anything but the hottest couple they’ve ever seen,” he said, smiling in good humour.

“Fuck, you’re so conceited,” she murmured, but there was a lusty tinge to her honeyed voice. She swallowed against his mouth, feeling him kissing her so wantonly and her body shifted in the sand as her hands pressed to his chest, pushing him away with just a bare amount of strength.

“Zach, you have to be serious about this, okay?” she pleaded with him, those eyes watering. “I can’t just be... this... paradise last resort. I can’t be just... I mean, fuck, we could really screw things up,” she whimpered.

Pushed away just the tiny bit, she could see that his eyes glistened too. It was emotional for him too, and he took her hands, pulling her back to him. “I meant it,” he insisted in a husky, firm voice, “I want to be with you forever,” he kissed softly at her cheek again, shyly skirting about her lips. “Zahra, when I try to think of me with someone else... it doesn’t even work. It’s just like... a round peg and a square hole.”
