Kip extended his hand for a handshake from him. Big Sean reached out to his hand, and there was a firm handshake between them. With his free hand, Kip put the gun to Big Sean’s chest and pulled the trigger.

Bak! Bak!

Big Sean’s eyes widened from shock, his body went limp, and then his large frame dropped to the ground right before Kip’s feet.

They picked his big ass up and placed him into the back of the SUV. Before they closed the back gate, they removed his watch and rummaged through his pockets. The man had eight grand on him. It would be divided between them. They drove off and dumped his body into a nearby alley.

Big Sean may have been a killer and one of Meek’s lieutenants, but he definitely wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. In fact, he may have been the dullest.

They were satisfied. It took long enough, but the murder contract had been fulfilled. Now it was time to go and collect the rest of their money from Maserati Meek.

Eighteen

Kip knocked on his brother’s door and then pushed it open. He didn’t wait for an answer. Kid was already dressed and in his wheelchair. Though it was a gloomy day, looking like rain sooner than later, Kid was ready to go down to the park and play some chess. He looked up at his brother and groaned, still feeling some type of way about the other day.

“What you want, Kip?” he asked with a slight attitude.

“Look, little brother, I know you’re still upset wit’ me, but I need for you to stay away from the park for a few weeks.”

“What? Why?” Kid hollered, taken aback by what he just heard.

“There’s some shit that went down, and things are ’bout to heat up, and I don’t need you in the line of fire.”

“Then what I’m supposed to do?”

“I don’t know, but that park, it’s not safe right now.”

Kid glared at his brother and spat, “It’s because of some shit you did, right?”

“Look, I’m not tryin’ to argue wit’ you. I’m just tryin’ to keep you safe.”

“I already don’t do much around here, Kip. Now you’re trying to keep me on house arrest and stop me from doing what I love.”

Kip sighed. He moved closer to his brother.

Kid wheeled himself farther away, moving toward the window. He didn’t want to be close to Kip. What he wanted to do was jump up from his chair and punch him in the face. Chess was his hobby and his livelihood too. It was his girlfriend, the woman he fell in love with. Now Kip was breaking them apart.

“Look, how about you play here?” Kip suggested.

“What?”

“I mean, call up some peoples you trust and play in the living room.”

“It won’t be the same.”

“Look, nigga, I’m tryin’ to work wit’ you here, a’ight! Fuck, Kid, compromise wit’ me,” Kip hollered.

Kid frowned. He wondered when Kip ever compromised. “Okay, I’ll play here. You happy?”

“Nah, but I feel better.”

“Can you leave, please? I just want to be alone,” Kid said sadly.

Kip shook his head and left the room, closing the door behind him. He knew it was hard for his brother to leave the park alone, but it had to be done. Everything was changing, and there were people out there that would use Kid to get at him, and he wasn’t about to let that happen.

He left the apartment with his gun in his waistband. He had some business to take care of with Maserati Meek.
