Danielle gave birth to a healthy baby girl and named her daughter Blessing. She wanted to break
that cycle of abandonment. She became a wonderful mother to her baby girl and continued to do hair in the shop with Wendy.
Wendy’s wounds eventually healed. She was never upset with Danielle due to the beating by Crown and Harlem. They were still best friends and loved each other like mother and daughter. Wendy became the godmother to Blessing and treated her goddaughter like her very own.
Danielle’s life gradually became normal. She went to church with Wendy, got baptized, and became a Christian. She also became a motivational speaker to young teenage girls.
Unfortunately, her life with YB wasn’t so happily ever after. Even though Danielle wasn’t charged with the murders in Philly because YB took responsibility for the crimes, they hit YB with eight counts, including first degree murder in both New York and Philly, resisting arrest, and gun possession. He copped a plea and got twenty-five to life in an upstate prison. They wanted to give him the death penalty, but his lawyers bargained for a lesser sentence.
Even though YB’s future looked bleak, he felt a sense of peace. Danielle brought their daughter to see him a month after she gave birth and YB got to finally hold his baby girl in his arms. He knew that Danielle was going to provide Blessing the life that Danielle herself never had, and he was content with that.
He was saddened by the loss of another good friend. Ray-Lo died of his injuries right after the shooting. YB had to learn to live with the murders and pain he had caused throughout his life.
Danielle convinced YB to repent for his sins and accept Christ into his life. He changed his ways and became a better man for his family. He knew that with good behavior, anything was possible—even parole.
It was a new beginning for the couple and they wanted love and a family for Blessing. It was a new day for everyone.
