“Your ass is a fucking trip. Have I ever kissed any part of you?” Pain said before walking away from her. Nikki was always doing the most.

He pulled off, headed to see his father. It had been a while, so he knew his father was gonna talk his head and arms off. Pain made sure to stop at the store to pick up a six pack of beer and a pack of Black and Mild cigars because he knew it was going to be a long conversation. When he knocked on the door, he heard his father moving around on the other side.

“Oh shit, what you doing here?” his dad, George, asked when he opened the door to his son standing there with the six pack and bag from the corner store. “Before you step your ass in here, you know I’m not gonna pussyfoot around with your black ass. Whatever it is y

ou done fucked up, I’m gonna tell your ass how, when, why, and where you fucked up. If you can’t deal with the real, leave the bag and the beer, and get the fuck on,” George told his son. It was no secret that the only time Patrick brought his ass around voluntarily was when he fucked up somewhere.

“I’m good, Pops,” Pain came in lying his ass off, and George knew it.

“You too fucking old to be lying to me. I’m not gonna come to your house and put you on punishment,” George said and laughed. “What’s going on, Patrick?” he asked.

“Pain, Pops.”

“Nigga, me and your mama named your black ass Patrick, and that’s what the fuck I’m gonna call you. You might be a pain in the ass, but I’m never gonna call you that bullshit. What the fuck I look like to you? Have you made up with Lawrynn yet?” George asked.

“Nah, she with Murder—I mean Maurice, now,” Pain told his father.

“You’re a fucking walking soap opera. How do you feel about that?” he asked.

“I hate the shit. It’s like maybe he was plotting on that shit all along, and I never even knew it. We break up, and now all of a sudden, he all up in her face and shit. We’re supposed to be brothers and shit. How the fuck is that not foul? He’s foul as fuck,” Pain fussed.

George sat back in his chair and just looked at his son while taking sips from the beer bottle. He could see the pain all over him. George didn’t want to preach or tell him that he warned him about this shit, but he had no choice. He had to give it to him raw and uncut.

“All this shit is your fucking fault. You know that, right? I told you over and over again if you weren’t gonna do right by that damn girl to let her go. Nah, you still out here slinging ya dick everywhere. Then, on top of that, your dumb ass broke up with her. The more I tried to tell you right, your ass went left. Let me guess. You ready to try to get at her and him. Am I right?” he asked.

“I just can’t take this shit lying down, Pops,” Pain said.

“Why not? You’ve been lying down all around town with anybody who had their legs open,” he told his son. “I can’t sit here talking to you without some weed in my system. Go in my room, look in the jewelry box, and get my blunt that’s in there,” he told Pain.

“Pops, I ain’t trying to go in ya stuff like that,” Pain said.

“Nigga, if you don’t take your bitch ass back there, I’m gonna dot your damn eye. After I do, you’re still gonna go get it. It’s up to you if you go decorated or not,” he told Pain.

Pain sat still for two more seconds before getting up to get the blunt for his dad. He had to brace himself for the tongue lashing he was about to get.

Chapter 13

“Is that hoe still carrying what’s supposed to be your baby?” George asked as Pain brought him the blunt.

“Yeah, you’re the one who told me to do right by her. Now, she’s a hoe,” Pain answered, sounding irritated.

“Ain’t no need to sit here and be pissed about it. You didn’t want her pregnant, you shouldn’t have fucked with her in the first place. Furthermore, me telling you to do right by her doesn’t mean I like her. I ain’t the one who knocked her hoe ass up either, am I? Ain’t she Lawrynn’s cousin anyway?” George asked.

“Yeah, Pops,” he answered.

“You knew those two girls were cousins before you fucked her, right?” George asked. Pain nodded. “Nah, don’t look ashamed and shit now. You fucked two cousins, so be a man about your shit. I know damn sure you’re not the first nigga to be in this position. As long as people are fucking, you won’t be the last. You weren’t nodding when you cheated on that girl with her cousin, so don’t nod now. You getting with her ain’t helping the situation. I told you to make an honest woman out of her, meaning MARRY HER HOE ASS,” he fussed.

“Yeah, I knew they were cousins. She was my girl. How could I not know?” he told his father.

“The same way your dumb ass didn’t see that fucking with that girl’s cousin was gonna cross your ass up. Don’t get smart now. You should’ve been smart when she was slanging that pussy in your face,” George said, looking at Pain with nothing but disappointment.

“I said I knew, Pop, what else do you want from me? First, I gotta deal with Lawrynn and her shit with Murder, and now here you go,” Pain said.

“What you mean Lawrynn and her shit? You’re the one who fucked all that up. You think she’s supposed to accept the fact that not only did you fuck her cousin, but she supposed to be carrying your baby? Why can’t you let her be happy with Maurice?”

“He’s like my brother, Pop. How can she do that to me?”

“Well, that girl you with now is her cousin. There is no like in that. That’s blood, through and through. What you need to be asking yourself is, why she ain’t cut your ass for fucking with her cousin? She has every right to, you know. Y’all were in a relationship when you were creeping with that girl. You fucked up y’all relationship, not her. If she got with Maurice after the fact, then you need to suck that shit up. She don’t owe you no loyalty. Shit, you better be glad she ain’t find one of your blood relatives and fuck them just off GP alone,” George told his son and hoped he was listening.
