"You're still sore from earlier." I exhaled through gritted teeth, trying to keep my composure, but the movement of her hand was driving me crazy with lust.

"The good kind of sore, though."

"Still, what kind of man would I be if I seduced you now?"

She rose on her tiptoes, kissing my jaw. "The kind who liked the first time so much that he wants seconds? Don't worry. Your conscience will remain intact, because I am going to seduce you."

"Give me your best, my lady."

Chapter Twenty

Lori

I planned to break the news to my brothers as soon as possible the next evening, because three of our Bennett cousins were also joining us, and I wanted to have the talk before they arrived.

Milo saved me the trouble. While Val told us the burgers were almost done, my son informed everyone how delicious Graham's fries and burgers had been. I supposed I should have considered myself lucky he didn't spill the beans to Will at the school event.

For a split second, you could hear a pin drop in my sister's dining room. Then Jace said, "Graham, as in Graham Frazier?"

"Your boss," Milo confirmed before I could even open my mouth.

"Sweetie, why don't you go wash your hands? They're dirty from playing outside," I said.

"But Uncle Jace and Will played too," Milo protested. For some reason, he considered washing hands a tragedy.

"They'll be washing the

ir hands too," Val assured him. "After you."

"Told you," Will told Jace once my son was out of earshot. "She had that look last week, and on Wednesday."

"What look?"

"I believe you usually call it gooey eyes," Will said, with a fake shudder on the last two words.

"We're your brothers, not your next door neighbors," Jace informed me. "We can read through the lines. Damn, Will. All the responsibility is on you and Landon. I can't deck him... technically. But if he messes up, I'll forget he's my boss."

Landon shook his head. "Leave me out of your plans."

Will clapped a hand on Jace's shoulder. "Don't worry; I have your back. Have the police force on my side. I can think of worse things than speeding tickets if he messes with Lori and Milo."

I glanced at my sisters. "Help. How do we make them stop?"

Val shook her head. "No point. Let them get those brotherly instincts out of their system."

Landon nodded, and Maddie snickered. She and Landon might be married, but she still wasn't used to the madness that could be Friday night dinners.

"Can you look him up in your database or something?" Jace asked Will. "Check if he has any skeletons?"

Will seemed to seriously consider it, so I put my foot down.

"No, no he cannot," I said loudly. "Really, Will. You can't abuse the system just because you're on the police force. You're not supposed to use the resources for your personal issues."

"You know me. I like to break the rules for a good cause."

The conversation changed course when Milo returned.

After dinner, I pulled Jace to the side. "I know Graham is your boss."
